WatchTime December 2008 issue arrived!!!

I went to check the mail today and my December issue of WatchTime arrived! Some fun facts that I found inside:

Rolex produced 728,256 watches in 2007 and all were certified chronometers by COSC.*

249,000,000 Number of times the balance wheel in a standard mecahnical watch moves to and fro over the course of a year.**

42,000 The number of watches Patek Philippe produces per year.**

The Last minute on page 250 features the article "Who Owns What: An Update" by Joe Thompson. This gives a basic overview of which companies own which brands in the watch industry.

WatchTime subscribers were also treated to a 112 page Omega Special Issue!

I highly suggest a subscription of WatchTime magazine to any and all members here at TRF. Well worth it! A perfect holiday present this season. To Subscribe you can call 1-888-289-0038 or by visiting their website: www.watchtime.com

*page 50 and 60.

**direct quote from page 60.

WatchTime is right up there with the best in watch magazines (I daresay it may even be the best). Joe Thompson is a great guy - very unassuming and knowledgeable when I met him some years ago at a Panerai event in Florence; I was told he's a legend in the watch journalism world. Good to see that he's now running the show there.

Thanks Chris. I must look for Watch Time.

Patek only produce 42,000 watches. Puts Rolex into perspective

Only ever get a watchtime when I get sent the new Breguet catalogue (they always send the same pro breguet mag).

Decent magazine...real lack of watch magazines on the shelves in the UK.

Fair enough....probably be a bonus as I'd only want more watches and Claire would kill me!

thanks for the info.watchtime is a great magazine.picked up the August edition when i was in dallas this summer.great read, had a wonderful review of the milgauss and a very nice in depth look at IWC.felt the mag was real value for money and one of the better watch publications on sale.promised myself i would take out a subscription when i got back home but never got around to doing it.here in the uk the only publication iam aware of is 00/24,which has lovely pics but tends to focus more on the higher end of the market.

Its like waiting for December 25th, but better because we get to experience it every two months!

Chicagowatchman, walds11, Dan and Singslinger, I couldn't agree more. WatchTime is the best watch magazine out there.

Very true Jimbits. WatchTime is quite dangerous to the wallet!

I was impressed with 00/24, very good watch magazine as well. They used to have them at certain Borders locations here in the States, but I have had no luck in recent months locating another one.
