Quick Datejust Jubilee Clasp Question 1601/03/00
Hi fellow members,
I'm in the process of purchasing a vintage 1601 Datejust from approximately 1971 (26XXXXX). I just have a quick question regarding the clasp of this particular piece. As informed by the current owner the jubilee bracelet is original to the watch. I'm not doubting any authenticity of the watch or bracelet, I am more interested in the commonality of this particular clap for the model. Bracelet: Jubilee, 6251H and appears to be 2/71. 55 end links. I'm more familiar with examples below (pics 4 and 5) of a clasp a) Featuring the crown logo itself being the release trigger and b) simple crown logo centered to the "top" near the release trigger (without lines running down parallel on each side). I've haven't really seen this particular clasp. Maybe a couple images looking through various datejust of the same era (with lines running down parallel on each side). Is this clasp meant for the DJ or was it meant for another model i.e. GMT, etc from this period. Your help as always in much appreciated. Thanks! First 3 pictures of the actual watch. The later two are samples of the clasp I typically see. |
