16610LV Submariner Serviced by Rolex

I just received my 16610LV back from a Rolex Service in Dallas. It was away approximately 7 weeks. That was the longest 7 weeks I can remember! This is my favourite Rolex and I am really glad to have it back. Rolex did an amazing job!

It was returned with a lovely green pouch, a cleaning cloth, booklet and an international service guarantee card.

I have been asked several times if I would sell Kermit but I could never part with it.

Here is a photo of it with my BNLR GMT II.

Love both, especially the Kermit. Looking good. My 14060 is at RSC NYC now and I can’t relate to the impatience.

And to go with long wait, I have to admit I was a bit nervous that it was out of my hands which was probably a bit silly on my part. The original estimate was the end of November but it ended up being quicker.

Love those 2! I have them both as well..

Wondering how much was the cost for servicing the Kermit?

I am not sure there is a standard price for the servicing but I was given an estimate of up to $1,100.00 but once it was examined in Dallas, the actual quote ended up being $775.00. I was nervous Kermit was gone so long but they did a beautiful job. I can't stop looking at it!

No, it wasn't a cleaning. It was a complete service. The service is quite detailed. I think Rolex has information on their site on what the service entails which includes replacing parts etc.

Calm down. the watch was gaining time and was not operating perfectly. They did not replace the bezel or polish it. It still has patina.

Nice. Did they keep the original bezel or offer to replace?

I told them not to replace the Bezel as it has a scratch in it. I worked hard to get that scratch! The scratch is still there. I want to keep the history and patina of the watch. The dealer is a Rolex only dealer so they also said "Don't replace the bezel"

That's a fair point! :-) But I will say it made me really appreciate it more when it was away.

wondering if the Kermit with Flat 4 scratched bezel will be replaced with a none Flat 4 bezel under normal Rolex service standards. is the Flat 4 Kermit worth more than none Flat 4 kermit in the used market?
