Won't fit. The spring-bar that comes with the Jubilee bracelet is much thinner than the original one that comes with the Sub.

The result is that the thicker Sub spring-bar will not go through the end links of the Jubilee bracelet which has been designed for a slightly thinner spring-bar.

Trust me on this one - tried it just last week - didn't work!

Thanks. I guess you will run into the same problem with an aftermarket Jubilee bracelet, correct?

Never mind what I wrote and deleted. It's too early for me apparently.

There have been a few rare pics of Subs on jubilees over the years. Not sure of the end piece or bracelet number reference numbers though, sorry.

These are extremely rare. There was a Sub 5513 retailed and branded by Serpico y Laino in Venezuala. It came on a Jubilee and looked very cool indeed. A Sub on a Jubilee looks beautiful - shame its not available as an option.

The photo is from the net -

I agree. I think the 5513 with a jublile looks great

Lowflight had a 1680 on a jubilee that looked fantastic too, IMO

Nothing much Jocke will be able to do. You could use a thinner spring-bar through the end link of the Jubilee, but then the lug-holes of the Sub are too big and the fit would be very precarious.

The Jubilee was never designed for the solid Sub which is definitely more suited and adapted with the Oyster Fliplock bracelet only.

That's right, even the spring-bars of the FLIPLOCK bracelet are thicker and stronger than the normal OYSTERLOCK bracelet which comes fitted with the YM, GMT-II and Exp-II.

Could it be an SEL issue? Javier Leon of this forum posts amazing pictures, of which one is a Sub LV with a jubilee bracelet, but it is the older one with non-SEL (follow link and scroll down):

http://www.rolexforums.com/showthrea...006#post775006

And here is the YM with older style Jubilee:

http://www.rolexforums.com/showthrea...334#post750334

Also, I have the heavy Oyster Fliplock bracelet (93150) on my Explorer 14270, and the heavy fliplock was optional for the GMT II and the Explorer II during many many years (before the oysterlock). The only thing differing is the end pieces, but for GMT II and Explorer II it is the same end piece as for the Sub 16610 - so it should be the same size for the spring bars. BUT - it might have changed now with the introduction of the new DJ case with the SEL Jubilee. I do not know. What I know is that my Oysterlock SEL bracelet on my Ex II 16570 fits perfectly on my older Explorer 14270, whilst the newer Oysterlock for 114270 do NOT fit the 14270 - the pin holes are located differently...

As JJ has concluded: New style SEL jubilee do not fit the YM, but Dan Pierce of this forum has it fitted to his GMT II (!)... Javier Leon the older style Jubilee fitted to his GMT II (and it was sold like that)...

And, when I tried to put the 93150 older style heavy fliplock on my M serial Ex II I failed, since I did not get the end pieces to fit...

I guess this only proves (once again) that nothing is certain when it comes to Rolex.

I wouldn't mind though having a Jubilee on my Explorers, but it seems I need to have both the old style and the new style ... or would it be enough with one of them... I'll see if I can try it out...

Best,

A

Did a quick search on the web: There are two dimensions on the spring bars; diameter 2 mm, and diameter 1.78 mm. It also seems to be different dimensions on the actual pin holes.

I've never looked into this before... So I've learnt something new now!

Good info, buddy, thanks. Like I said, the Sub spring-bars must be the thicker 2 mm ones 'cause they did NOT fit through the SELs of the Jubilee.

There's another interesting question you posed above:

Will the new Super Jubilee 63200 bracelet fit the GMT-II 16710 with the newer NO LUG HOLES case?

Dan Pierce tells me that he was able to fit the Super Jubilee on his older GMT-II WITH lug holes quite easily - no hassles.

And, if it will fit the GMT-II WITHOUT lug holes, does that mean it will also fit the Exp-II case WITHOUT lug holes?

Someone's just gotta try the above experiments out.

JJ

I have an older Jubilee that I bought that was made for an early Sub, I'll see if it fits my 5513 or 1680.

I'm tempted to go to Rolex in St James SQ on Monday, before I go to work, to get some closure on this.

Yes, I am interested in the answer as well: Ask them if the difference is only in the thickness of the springbars, or if it also is about pin hole dimension and/or position.

I once was in Harrod London and they were selling a TT Sub on a TT Jubilee. Rolex would have had a hissy fit if they knew.
