My favourite date just would be one in for a service so I don't have to wear it.
I have tried and tried to love them, I even bought 3 over the years but each time I wore one I felt like a pensioner not the 30 year old I was at the time. Some love sports Rolex, others love the more refined classic models.
Buy what you like, not what others like.

New or any version?

I like my DJs to essentially look like sport watches, so, if vintage is allowed, the 1600:

If new, while I'm not a huge fan of any of the current models, I guess I'd go with this and brush the PCLs:

Wow that vintage datejust is beautiful. I'd love to own one someday.

You need not brush the PCL’s. I purchased an oyster bracelet that comes on the 36mm Oyster Perpetual, factory brushed and a perfect fit. Sorry no pics as I’m sending from my iPhone, but it’s the best, and only mod I’ve ever made.

Do you find that the smooth bezel scratches easily? I love the look of it but was worried about scratches vs fluted bezel

Oh my I LOVE that 1630!!!! .. I really want one of those .. I saw one for sale about a year ago for 7,200 and I offered 5,000 and the guy got offended .. The
OQ is a great watch, but the 1630 is better because it has the OQ case and bracelet but the self winding mechanical self winding movement

1600. I’s unfortunately not mine, although, in wanting a day feature, I used it as a model in picking this out, which is my favorite DateJust-esque.

How do you brush the center links? You’d have to brush the case too I would imagine.

That is one beautiful piece.

I love the dial.

What’s going on with the bezel? I see red, white and blue reflected on it?

Looks great, I’m just wondering how you achieved that!

I was wearing a red shirt and to the left of my, my balcony was open and it was a cloudy day, which gave it that blue/gray color. Good eyes! Didn't catch that myself.

You have a champagne tapestry just like mine .. our tapestries could be triplets

I love the slate dial and green roman on your big DJ that is a beautiful watch .. I wish Rolex made a slate dial green roam numerals for the 116233 .. That would totally please my heart

This one is mine...I’ve been hesitating between this one and the one with a black dial.
