I recently had this same question and went with the DJII for the below reasons:
-Preferred the larger size/dimensions -Liked the feeling on the wrist better -Known reliably with a proven 3136 movement(not saying the 32xx is bad in anyway) -I liked the thicker batons over the thinner |

Thanks for that. Good shout about trying both on. I haven't tried the newer DJ41 yet. 70hrs power reserve over the 48hr is probably the only plus? |

I'm not big on either, but I prefer the DJ41 far and away.

If worn specifically for dress - DJ41
If worn in more casual situations - DJII Smaller wrist - DJ41 Larger wrist - DJII Cost not a factor - DJ41 Cost is a factor - DJII Prefer jubilee bracelet - DJ41 Prefer oyster - Either |

Great break-down. I'm with Syed on this one. 41 for my puny wrists.

The more "robust" look of the II worked better for me. If I was only wearing with dress shirts and wanted the jubilee I might have flipped it. The differences between the two are pretty subtle so it's really an individual decision rather than x is better than y type of think IMO |

I went with the 41.
Jubilee is reason enough, but even on oyster it's just such a better proportioned watch. You will be happy with either. |

I went with the Datejust II over the 41 for two main reasons. It’s less elegant and more sporty, looks better with more variety of attire. I like the large size, it’s big and feels substantial.
I went with the Datejust over a sport model because I don’t have any real need for any of the functions of the sport models in my day to day life...and I think the gold bezel looks awesome. - |

There are many thread with the same argument. I posted one a month ago or so. I ended up with the “safer” DJ41 as it’s less controversial and I love the sharper thinner sticks and overall esthetics
The jubilee bracelet is another added bonus that you can get ONLY on the DJ 41 Put them both on and go with the one that speaks to you more. It will be YOUR watch after all |

I like the DJ 41 for the Jubilee option. I ended up getting a rhodium dial with a fluted bezel and Jubilee bracelet. The 41 certainly is far more slim and less robust, but that's what I wanted in the piece. The Datejust II is fantastic as well and probably a better choice if you want something more sporty but still well rounded. Just my two cents.

DJ 41, blue dial, fluted bezel on an oyster bracelet is the one I went for and very happy with it. Can be worn in business attire or smart casual.

41, please, for several reasons, but especially because it comes with a significantly improved movement.

I’m torn on this too.
If I could have exactly what I wanted, it would be the DJ41 TT Black Diamond Dial Fluted Bezel on Jubilee Bracelet with a hidden crown Clasp. Until I can get that option, I would go with a DJ II in stainless and keep it more sporty until my grail becomes available or possible. On a side note, does anyone know if the Oyster Clasp and Crown Clasp can be interchanged from the DJ 36 to the DJ 41? What’s the size difference on the links closest to the Clasp? |

I have had both on my wrist, and my wrist is 6.5 inch. I wear a Daytona 90% of the time and I would say the dimensions and how it looks, size wise, to MY EYE, is similar to the dj41. That being said, all my other pieces are bigger/bulkier(sub, gmt, DJII) I just prefer the slightly bigger bulkier DJII, mostly because I wear it 99.9% of the time with jeans/casual wear. If I were to wear suits, dress shirts, slacks, etc....most of the time, I would’ve kept a dj41. |

Here are two pictures of bothwatches on my wrist. (7.6”)
Even though the DJII has the reputation of being bigger, they are really very similar in wearing Again try both on and go with the one that speaks to you |

I've been thinking about adding a Datejust to compliment my Submariner.. That 41 in blue with the smooth bezel and jubilee combo absolutely confirms what I want for my next piece. Pure class.
