GIVEAWAY: Rolex Hat - the Genuine AD SWAG article

Free 100% microfiber Rolex hat! Well almost free . . .

Here is the game:
  • Post a story as to why you should be given the hat
  • Story does NOT need to be true, but it can be
  • I will pick top 3-5 (with help from my wife) and build a poll
  • I have a contingency if no good reasons are posted, but lets at least try!
  • TRF will decide who gets the hat!*
  • Entries will be taken until 12:00 Eastern Standard Time on January 1st.
  • Poll for winner will run until Friday of next week.

*I'll cover shipping but since this is an international forum I will not be able to ship to some countries (I will try my best no matter what). If shipping costs are nuts, I may ask for some help!

I got this from my AD when I bought my Milgauss. It is actually a super nice hat. I have never put it on my head. I would wear it in public if not for the Rolex badge

Let the games begin

Story you say? Doesn’t need to be true but can be?

Paging BristolCavendish

Nice gesture. I wouldn’t wear it either though.

Im not sure many would, so no need to wear it to get it. Although a selfie in a very conspicuous place would be awesome!

I think you’re underestimating the passion

I’m sure many would wear it proudly, just not me

Anyways the stories should be hilarious. Looking forward to reading the top ones.

Nice hat! It'd look great on my dad, the source of my Rolex (and watch) love. I'd give it to him.

BTW, he lives in the US, so you wouldn't have to worry about expensive shipping. ;-)

Good example here! Doesn’t have to be a story. Just a good reason!

There was a man from Nantucket,
Who dumped his nice cap in a bucket,
Coz he didn't want it seen on his head,
So he put up a giveaway instead,
But then he thought ********

The other day I was pondering the sun damage on my balding head, when I discovered a galaxy shaped lesion. I wondered if it might be cancer. Not sure whether it would be safer just to not call it cancer, or go get it checked out, I decided to go down to the country club and get some medical advice.

Tony and BC were getting ready to tee up with a couple medical executives when I sauntered up to get the best advice. I mentioned the lesion and my dilemma to the group. There seemed to be a lack of consensus whether calling something cancer makes the condition worse than giving it a harmless pseudonym. I don’t want it to get worse, so I sided with the harmless pseudonym crowd.

Just about the time I felt like I might be cured, BC suggested I start a thread on TRF to gather the wisdom from the crowd. I thought I’d streamline the process and just ask the question here.

Given that I have this sun damage lesion on my head, should I start wearing a hat?

I would like it because I have no hair! And need it to keep my body heat from going out of the top of my head. Therefore it would be very useful and greatly appreciated!

Very cool hat.

I'm second generation watch guy. Former Navy ATC. One man show. Would love some Rolex stuff to decorate my shop with. Would be cherished everyday as I tear down and reassemble Rolex watches.

I have a 47 year old friend that lives and breathes Rolex. He'd wear that hat until it faded to white from the sun, wearing it everywhere he went. His Rolexes are his children, seriously. There was once a small hair on his Deep Sea's crystal that looked like a crack and he had a small stroke thinking it was. I'll admit I had a good laugh at that one. Just the look on his face when he saw that hat would just be an "How'd you get this?!? I've been trying all my life to get Rolex swag!" A funny scene for sure if you saw it.

He started his Rolex obsession when his dad bought a Pepsi back in the Philippines during the 70's. The watch was lost on the move back to the states but he ended up buying himself a Pepsi two years ago. It filled a piece inside of him that he said was missing from his childhood.

Now my 5 year old grabs mine all the time and tells me that I have to give him my watch when I die. Have to keep telling him he has to wait lol.

Sweet hat. Most here would be happy to wear it with distinction and pride, not to mention to keep the sun off their smiling face.

I’d ebay auction it and use the funds to buy a 4 pack of double IPAs. True story.
