Incoming - First Rolex!
After several months of internal debate, I finally pulled the trigger on a GMT-IIc. I can't wait to take pictures when it arrives.
To those with a GMT, is there anything I should know beforehand that I may have not heard about? Thanks. |

Don’t be paranoid about scratches on the PCLs. Especially the clasp. Hairline scratches are normal and unavoidable.

congrats! only problem is buying one Rolex ultimately leads to owning more. i purchased my first rolex 3 years ago. now i'm up to 4 rolex and 2 tudor watches including my own 116710 (black bezel).
2 good gmt links other than the countless great threads here. http://www.gmtmasterhistory.com/ https://www.minus4plus6.com/116710.php https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=135533 |

Something to take note... when setting time and date don’t wind the hour hand really really fast. That could break it then needing a service.

By the way, watch a YouTube video on how to set the watch. It has one of the most versatile movements in the Rolex line. |

Finally picked it up. I actually thought it was broken when I first tried using it - turns out I'm just a dumbass and only counted 40 half turns rather than 40 full turns. It's a 2008 model with some light dings but, considering this will be my daily watch, I don't care too much.
One person did point out the spacing between the Oyster Perpetual Date is somewhat wide on mine compared to others - are dial variations something common with modern Rolexes? |

Congrats.
There are variations on the Sub, so I would assume same holds true for the GMT. The spacing on yours is a bit different than my BLNR (bought in 2014). |
