Nicked My Skydweller Bezel :(

Think this is a first here (hopefully not)

Accidentally nicked my Skydweller, one of the peaks on the fluted bezel is a bit squashed now.

Just wondering how much it'll cost in the future for a polish or a replacement?

I can't see any damage?? but If there is some kind of damage, I would not try to have it polished out...I suspect it would look even worse than now.

First I would remove the rest of the stickers and just wear the sucker! That’s not even noticeable, wear and enjoy, consider them personality

This! I wish more people would USE THEM instead of worrying about investments.

Ah, OK...I see it now, just a bit below the center of the photo....looks pretty insignificant to me. I wouldn't sweat that, its barely noticeable.

thanks guys for the feedback, just wondering about the cost since the sky dweller comes with the command bezel, and wondering if the white gold bezel can be swapped off with a replacement and not the whole thing (which sounds costly), so thought I'd chime in

The only issue I see is the sticker. I wouldn't worry about it, hardly noticeable.

Nicked is another word for stole in Brit speak. Too bad about the scratch but now you have reason to remove the stickers and just wear it.

Me too, except that they just nicked the bezel lol - a worthy candidate for most bizarre watch related crime of the year :)

I’d be more worried about the stickers on your watch, they are way more noticeable

Well, that's your cue to take the stickers off. And then it'll truly be your watch.

Nicks like that will hurt for a day but then you'll forget about them. I remember the pain of nicking the bezel on my Patek 5164 last week very vividly. The next day, didn't bother me at all.

The ring command bezel might be a pretty penny. My guess at least $1,750+

It took me awhile but I think I see two shiny spots on bezel points with macro picture.

Most wont know that it is a Rolex and far fewer will ever notice those spots.

Watches take hits. Nobody but the owner usually notices.

Edit: Reconsider in 6 months to a year. I would personally get it fixed 8-10 years from now with first service if it still bothered me but we are all different

Only you'll see it. And you'll find it having more marks later as you wear it. The bezel is probably around 2k I'd assume. I wouldn't sweat it too much.

Take the stickers off. You're ridiculous for wearing it and keeping them on. What? You think you can wear it and then pass it off as BNIB because the stickers are still on?

Pretty rude don’t you think? He can do what ever he likes with his watch.

Leaving those stickers on gives me cause to think how many of the watches in the "for sale" section of this forum that state they are BNIB with stickers on, have actually been worn daily the whole time.

To me it makes me think about antibacterial soap.

Almost everyone that uses the TRF classifieds that sells new pieces are dealers and there is no way the trusted sellers do that.

On this particular reference the used price and new price would only be a difference of a few hundred bucks so there would not be a need for someone to be that dishonest.

Lots of us leave certain stickers in place as it was a large investment and it gives us a little mental comfort in potentially avoiding a scratch (however is reality it doesn’t).

I can understand that on the clasp Steve (although a properly sized but of 3m clear tape is much more effective than the soft Rolex ones) or the case back to prevent scratches from the bracelet, but the dirt and grime that gets under the stickers on the polished part of the SEL and even case sides can be pretty bad and potentially create wear points.

I've also seen a PM piece that has the case stickers left on for so long that when they came off, you could clearly see where they had been as the rest of the case had aged but the protected areas had not. As a result, the watch required a light case polish that would not have been otherwise necessary
