Wrist Presence: Daytona vs Sky-D

Straightforward question, which watch do you think has more of a wrist presence?

Came up in another thread, curious how the WIS see this.

Size and bezel alone gives the SD more wrist presence. Both beautiful watches, both have very good presence, but also depends on metal. YG will be a lot of presence in either model! In a white metal, the size and bezel will give the SD a little more presence, but the pushers on the Daytona give a great presence and beautiful look! No wrong choice IMO...

The bigger fluted bezel will always throw more light (bling) in the sun and accents its size. A sunburst dial also out "blings" any non-sunburst dial. Doing the math, the blue Sky Dweller will be the "flamboyant" of the two watches. This doesnt mean its good or bad, its just the WIS match.
The Daytona, by design wears smaller than its actual measurements. The Sky Dweller is beast on the wrist and is large and in charge.

Have you tried them on? A couple of weeks ago I tried on a skydweller, and though I don't think I need more than one at a time, that one has me thinking.

Give it some time; it could change. I agree with the majority to this point.

SkyD has too much presence IMO.

Wrist presence is such a vague and subjective term.

Presence is something quite apart from purely physical dimensions.

I have a friend who just bought a TT Daytona and I have to say that I've never seen any Daytona that looks as good on anyone's wrist as his does.

I've tried on many Daytona watches at my AD over the years and I've never seen one that looks as good on my wrist as his does on him.

I don't know exactly what it is, but the look is totally magical.

It blows my socks off every time I see it.

I think people equate presence to size, shiny, etc. way too often. I define how I think about "presence" below.

I typically use it meaning "catches your eye," (in a good way).

Wrist Presence: Daytona vs Sky-D

That's a tough choice but I voted DaytonaC White Face. The blue Sky Dweller is SWEET!

SkyD by far, Daytona is quite stealthy by comparison.

I voted Sky Dweller but I’m not sure more wrist presence equates to a win.

The white d5 is very crisp and has tons of presence. Clearly the SkyD more. The black tona is more stealth mode

Daytonas 'petite'. 38.5mm

not even close to the 42mm SkyDweller

Had both, no contest. SkyD for understated complication, case size and that blingy fluted bezel. However price wise Daytona Ceramic actually priced higher than steel SkyD on grey market.

I like the way the Daytona manual states it. "Sober eloquence." Describes the Daytona to a t.

This kills me to say, but....Sky Dweller. That is one flashy piece, I must admit!

As far as wrist presence, the Sky wins but not for positive reasons.
Pictures never do any watch any justice at all, regardless of how appealing the picture may be.

What exactly is wrist presence? Who exactly are you trying to impress? Both watches are superb. The Daytona for me.

Slightly prefer the daytona on my own wrist, but if I am being honest with myself there isn't exactly a shortage of 3 sub-dial chronographs out there as compared to the physically larger SkyD with the iconic fluted bezel.

The SkyD has more wrist presence because its a big watch and fluted bezel so its blingy as hell.

Daytona is small (wears smaller than a 40mm Sub) so just in size alone its presence is somewhat small.

The Sky-Dweller has more wrist presence based on the size. I have owned multiple of both and there is no comparison.

I suspect the white dial 116500C is a bit flashier than the black which is small and dark on the wrist. Perhaps with the shiny stainless bezel it looks better too. No doubt in my mind which is more eye catching; SkyD hands down as the poll indicates.
