Considering 1675 purchase
Hi all - Thinking of purchasing this 1675 but have a question. So far this is the only pic I have (more coming). If you zoom in you can see some “pimples” on the markers. What causes this - moisture? Concern or no?
Anything else you see that might concern you? Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think the lume looks ok, maybe some moisture got on it at some point? The bezel insert may be a newer blue back and the case seems to be polished by wear or by a polishing wheel. All comes down to the asking price.

Thanks - moisture is my guess as well. The case does concern me. Asking is $10.5. High. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Do you have the first two digits of the serial number? That will give some context to what we are looking at.

I am no expert but went through similar process recently so here is my $.02.
Polished look to the case could be from a lot of use, rubbed against sleeves, but you really need to bring a loupe to see if it's been machine polished (poorly) or actually polished from use. If the glossiness of of the case is from use, then the bracelet looks kinda too clean to be the original to the watch IMHO. Mine has basically identical level of polished look to it as the case, and the clasp code matches with the case vintage. See if you can get that code. |

Good eye - I did forget to mention that the bracelet is newer. The watch is from circa 1974. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You've got a Mark 4 dial on this one so "circa 1974" isn't too a big of a stretch. As others have noted lets get the serial.
The lume has chipped a bit at 11:00 so you'll need to be sure the flakes have not ended up in the movement... |

Is it just the photo that’s distorting the date wheel numbers?

I think it’s just the photo. Won’t know more until I have additional pics. Quote:
Can you tell me more? I assume CG means crown guards. Weren’t the early versions pointed - these appear to be square. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Honestly, the condition concerns me...
Heavily polished case, scratched bezel, stretched bracelet. Looks like it has lived a hard life... And 10.5k? Not a chance... |

Agreed ...
Asking prices ... and I guess selling prices ... have really jumped up for 1675s'. The reference is certainly not stuck in the shadow of 5513s' anymore.
If a 1675 is complete, totally parts-correct, in reasonable condition (an acceptable case, matching dial and hands with no relume), and on a bracelet, it's $10k all day long now |

However, this watch would be a big pass for me. Those bubbles on the lume ... Oy. And if it's from moisture, I'd be concerned about the movement too. I've never seen that type of issue with lume. I wonder if it's been badly re-lumed. Much better photos would be needed to fully assess. |
