Are Daytona Cs opening up in distribution or does the lockdown continue?

What is the wait? Years?

Still as tight as ever and the market is clearly reflecting that.

Crazy times. I’d rather get a used PM watch if I’m able to spend $20K

I am supposedly on a waiting list. Glad I like other watches. Sort of not optimistic for my lifetime. I’m 60 y.o.

Depends. I'm sure I could have one quick enough if I wanted one.

I spoke recently to my ADs about the Daytona C (on waitlist at two locations). It's been about 1.5 years for me. Got the same speech on how limited the supply has been and how they still have "VVIP" clients and personal lists (which I'm allegedly on) they are still working through. From what I gathered, the rate of incoming pieces has not been changing much recently.

Being in a major city like LA obviously has its disadvantages when it comes to waiting list prioritization. I'm starting to wonder if I might have better luck cold-calling random cities across the country to take their temperature on wait times, etc. I am sure it's a bit late in the game for a back-up plan like this but curious if others have had any luck with this approach?

I struck out at various smaller town/city ADs and ended up getting mine at my NY AD. I’m still on a bunch of lists at random ADs I visited while traveling for work.

I see. I may try calling a few random ones just to see how my luck goes. I travel a decent amount for work and need to start allotting some time on my trips to stop by local ADs to cast a wider net! I've been waiting patiently but recently the "bug" of getting this watch has been killing me.

I'm supposedly on a wait list too.

The thing is, without actually trying them on, I am not sure if I prefer the black or white dial more.

But it's probably next to impossible to see two in the same place at once for comparison. Grrrr.

Wait list is a fluke for those who don’t have a real relationship with that AD, I can assure you they will never give you “the call”. New policy from Rolex is the 116500 cannot be sold to a first time buyer. Ask your AD about this - sorry just the way it is now.

I tried the 3 ADs here in the Province of Quebec last week-end for fun. The 1st (with whom I bought my 1st Rolex) told me to forget it as was almost impossible to get one. The 2nd one's answer was that they don't even take new customers on the waiting list because demand is too high. Lastly the 3rd one (in a somewhat remote location) told me that there would be a 2 year wait minimum.

The one in the remote location told you at least 2 years?? When i asked, they said that 200 people were on their list and that they only got 2 Daytonas in 2017.

This seems crazy. The DaytonaC was the watch I've waited for the longest... At 3.5 months. Just got it in Dec. Don't know why it's getting so rediculous.

The longer the wait the less interested I get!!
Yes of course I will jump on the opportunity of getting one is offered to me but the eagerness dies with time as realism sets in!!

My AD is getting slightly better at not laughing at me when I ask. Does that count?

Sheeeet, not only did the local AD only get one 'tona EVER, they NEVER have received the blue SS SkyD. Walked into the store yesterday wearing the SkyD blue and the salespeople really wanted to see it because, yup, the AD salespeople had never seen a SkyD blue.
