Sounds like a great time. When you get back from Pineherst, you should definitely look into Pinehurst. Coincidentally, they also have 9 different courses...

I took golf lessons at The Greenbriar. My instructor said I swung my club like a baseball bat. I asked if he was praising or criticizing me. That ended my very short-lived golf career.

But I like to watch the big boys play. They make it look so effortless.

Back in the late 1990's, I had the pleasure of playing Sentosa Golf Club in Singapore. Definitely my first and only time seeing wild monkeys while playing a round of golf. Still had an old observation post from WWII on the property as well. Very nice, on the water, but very hot and humid. Very unique.

I would have to argue that Augusta National is the holy grail of golf courses!

Nice to see Bandon on the list. A great place for a golfer to visit. 4 Strong courses. You just need the weather to cooperate.

I would love to take a golf trip to EU and Australia at some point in my life.

The list evolves over the years, probably the right thing to do. Pasatiempo (Scott’s Valley/Santa Cruz, CA) used to be on the list and it’s a Dr. Alister Mackenzie jewel. Mackenzie lived there (forget what hole) and is also known for designing gems Cypress Point, and also Augusta National with Bobby Jones. Pasatiempo plays tough with fast undulating greens.. “A” game needed..

A little side note but I just finished the book "The Match". Absolute must read for any golfer. Pretty short read too.

I think Dornoch is the only one on that list truly worthy.

In all seriousness, just fly to Dublin and within a couple of hours in several directions you have courses that are way better than 4 of the 5 listed.
Here is just a small sampling:
Royal County Down
Royal Portrush
Portmarnock
Old Head
Ballybunion
Lahinch
Waterville

And here is a bonus course that you won't find on many lists. It is shockingly beautiful and a very difficult test. Also, right outside of Dublin. You're welcome!

I am off to Ireland in August to play Portmarnock, The Island, Royal County Down, Royal Portrush, and Old Head. Going to be a fantastic week.

Oh, and IRISH WHISKEY! The greatest drink of all.

Ireland is the greatest golf destination on the planet with nowhere else close.
