Do you shower with your Rolex on?

Curious - who showers with their watch on?

I know my DJ41 is waterproof down to 100 meters, but after having it about a month I still haven't gone near the water with it!

Only DSSD owners wear their Rolex in the shower.

I'm sure it's fine, I just prefer to avoid any soaps outside of blue Dawn touching my watches

Why do you try to avoid other soaps?

I've read this on here before, but still don't understand what is special about blue Dawn

The idea is to avoid alcohol and/or ammonia ingredients and other harsh cleaners because over time they can erode the gaskets and other non-metal materials. Rolex recommends a gentle soap as well.

Blue Dawn is a degreaser often used to clean wildlife after oil spills. Definitely gentle enough for your watches.

If you're showering daily with soap or shampoo that have ammonia and or alcohol as ingredients you're going to be having an even bigger problem than seals in your watch.

Touche i guess we don't really have ammonia in shower products. But believe it or not i have read of some owners thinking it's ok to clean their watches with household cleaners

Cannot understand why if any soap that does not harm your skin, then I am 100% sure it would not harm one of the toughest things made by man SS.No matter the soap used in the shower as long as its rinsed off with water its fine. But today more watch accidents occur in the bathroom where there are mostly hard tile floors.

Yeah, I do. Im just too lazy to take the thing off. Plus I actually find myself using it in the morning to make sure I don't stay in the warm shower too long lol

Mostly this. Not out of laziness though, a Rolex should be able to handle 10min of shampoo and water

No way! I prefer to keep all watches away from liquids. What's the point of taking unnecessary risk in the shower while simultaneously ensuring a portion of your wrist won't become sparkly clean? Take the Rolex off and have a clean wrist on which you can place your Rolex after you're done getting ready.

Not normally, but away from home or after the beach always.

Usually when I leave home on trips I keep it on all the time

Every day. And I give it a good wash with my body wash and a soft tooth brush.

Not going to harm it.

Kind of makes me think twice about handling another man's Rolex now knowing where some of them have been. I guess plenty probably have endured some urinal splatter... Maybe it is a good idea to give your Rolex a nice rogering in the shower with a toothbrush every day.
