Hmmm. Not sure. I think if your going to strap one of these, then a NATO / Sailcoth / Canvas or even a plain leather Catalonia would look best.
It's a rugged tool watch at the end of the day.
Regardless, it's what you like that counts.

Sort of thing Croc Dundee would wear. Hideous. (Reference to the strap only)

I'm familiar with an Indonesian company called StrapGuaid that specializes in handmade and handstitched exotic stingray straps with that central pearl appearance. Some of their clients are businessmen and game hunters that keep exotic animals as pets ( scorpians, tarantula spiders , snakes..you get the picture ). In fact you can even customize the colour of the 3/4 stitches on the stingray strap based on the flag colour of your country! Obviously the stingray straps are very polarizing, either you love 'em or hate 'em. Here are some colour examples : Green, Butterscotch, Black, Royal blue and Grey with bourban coloured keepers !

It all looks a bit "Flintstones" to me, however I do appreciate the workmanship gone into creating the straps..... sadly not for me.

I think a Rolex looks best on the bracelets 95% of the time. The Panerai on the other hand...

It's not for me, but I generally don't like exotic leather straps.
