Can't Decide 116509 or 116159

I'm thinking of adding to my collection. This time no Day-Date or DateJust. I've been warming up to the Daytona, but I can't decide on which one.

For those of you who own one, what are your thought between my final two?

Those are my two favorite PM Daytona’s. You honestly can’t go wrong, but I bought the 116519LN. it must be seen in person to fully appreciate it.

Also, who wouldn’t want the modern day 6263 big red? Future classic imo.

I think I would lean the same way.....for the sake of correctness though, that dial is closer to a service dial aka the "small red" and not the "big red" on 4 digit Daytonas. Nothing beats the 6263/6265 big red in my books on the Daytona side.

116509 Blue Dial doesn't seem true to life.

True. If only the dial actually looked like the picture. Its dark blue in person

I’ve had it almost 3 weeks and can vouch for its comfort. You do need to get the proper oysterflex straps originally to ensure they fit your wrist. Once properly sized, you have a 5 mm easy link extension. The ribs on the inside of the bracelet allow it to adjust as your wrist expands/contracts. They also position the watch perfectly on the wrist. I’ve also got an Everest strap for my sub and prefer the oysterflex. Also, bear in mind the watch won’t be as heavy as with a WG bracelet so a bit more versatile.

Both really nice. Blue dial will be dressier. Hard choice. Do you want a rubber strap or an oyster?

Everything I have is either a DD or DJ. I guess I'm looking for something more sporty for casual wear. I'm leaning toward the 519.

I would also take a 116519... because you have the great 228206 in your collection!!
And the 116509 blue is on the photos better than in real life!!
The 116519 is grandiose!!go for it!!
116519 with the ceramic bezel is much more wearable than without

Was just looking at the blue one a few hours ago. Beautiful!! My wife actually pointed it out to me in the display case.
Also, I’m not a fan of rubber straps.

Picture is deceptive. The blue in the real watch does not even look close to what the picture shows.

The oysterflex one is the beauty, no contest.

very very close call. IMO it depends on your lifestyle and of course personality. The blue dial Daytona is of course amazing, but way too much polished finishes for my lifestyle. If I could afford to own it and wear it once a month or less I definitely would.

The Oysterflex bracelet and ceramic bezel of the 116519LN make the watch a much much more versatile daily watch for me.

I totally agree with Chad! Blue dial looks superb but in real life is much more darker. When I bought the 519 I was also looking at the 509. The AD had them both and ended up buying the OF version. It is way more versatile and you end up having both an elegant and a sporty watch in the same time.

And the cherry of the cake: the steel looking dial! I don't say that the blue dial isn't extraordinary but this steel looking dial fits perfect with the meaning of the Daytona. This dial signs racing and Daytona!

Can’t go wrong with either!
Ceramic bezel vs blue dial!! Tough one but I would go blue!

For me, I would rather have the blue.

For your collection, I think the OF. Good luck,
