What side?
It may have been asked before but it’s a fairly poignant one for me so I’ll ask anyway. What side do you wear your watch on? And is it the same side or opposite to your dominant hand?
I went for years wearing a watch on my left and being right handed. However in 2010 I had a pretty nasty motorbike accident which resulted in a smashed left wrist (amongst a lot of other things) and now even though fully recovered, a watch on my left wrist feels horrible due to nerve damage, so I wear on my right. Everyone asks if I’m left handed, and surprises them when I say no... I heard traditionally you are supposed to wear a watch on whatever side you write with, so if you need to write the time/date you can easily check first, I don’t know how correct this is! Watch is on the right side, I’m unusual in that sense...I get it. I’ve tried switching to the left and it just doesn’t feel right to me.

I wear my watch on my left. However, I tried it on my right for the first time the other day and it actually felt quite good.. Although, with right being my dominate hand I can only see my watch getting damaged more on that hand.

I always heard it was non dominant hand. I do wear it on my left hand and I am left handed.
I believe when I was in grade school / middle school I used to wear a watch on my right hand, but always saw it on the left so I thought I was weird and switched haha. After all those years I tried to wear it on my right hand and just felt to odd. |

Always on my left............ I'm right handed.
Hope you're fully recovered from your accident? |

Yes thank you all fully recovered, 22 broken bones in one go, 10 operations in 1 1/2 weeks and a year of rehab meant that now 8yrs later I have 95% of my dexterity back and almost no real physical problems apart from scars. I had a very good orthopaedic surgeon and a whole lot of luck on my side. Biggest problem after 12 months was that I couldn’t wear a watch on my left wrist anymore haha! Wear it where you like and makes you happy. The “watch police” won’t give you a ticket for “parking” it on the wrong wrist
Most people wear it on the left but nothing wrong with right either

I'm righty. When my left wrist isn't hurting I wear it on that one. When it hurts I go right hand.

Right-handed, wear on my right. I started this because my Sub crown would dig into the back of my left hand, so I loved it over. Now, a watch on my left feels weird.

I'm a lefty and always wear my watch on my right hand. However for the past year I have also worn a Garmin fit watch on my dominant left hand.
It has time and date displayed. |

Left, and I’m left handed (for most things). Ultimately there is no right or wrong, it’s just a matter of personal preference..

Back in the day, I understood that you wore your watch on the hand opposite of the one you wrote with. I am a lefty so I have worn a watch on right wrist for as long as I can remember. I am usually the odd ball but have noticed small increase on folks wearing watches on the right over the past decade or so.
Speaking of right hand, left hand... my avatar is no accident. |

It is more likely to avoid damage. Just like pocket watches were placed in the pocket with the glass face, facing inward to keep the glass safe, the wristwatch was also subject to damage. Wearing it on the opposite from your dominant hand lessoned the chances of scratches and damages. So, right handers wear it safely on the left wrist, and lefties the opposite. I also know from personal experience playing baseball, if you wear a watch on your throwing hand you will lose a lot of watches.

Right handed, watch is on the left wrist. My wife is left handed and wears her watch on her left wrist.

I'm a Southpaw and wear my watch on my right. I don't like the feeling when I'm writing, it's uncomfortable.

Grew up thinking it goes on your non-dominant hand. That said, I've always worn a watch on my left hand.

Right handed and wear on my left wrist. Crown position gives it away. If I would be left handed, I would wear it on my right and get a watch with crown on the left side.

It's been on my right hand from the first time I wore a watch back in Grade 5.
And I'm right handed. Watches get damaged whether you wear them on your dominant hand or not, don't see why most people are so adamant the left side is the correct side. |
