“Subs Are Everywhere” ............. Really ?

It seems that a majority of threads states the above in some manner.

Evidently, most hang in circles much different than mine !

How often to do you actually see a Submariner on someone’s wrist ?

I tried on a new potential piece Saturday at one of My AD's stores (YG SUB Blue)

I was wearing my SS SUBC and she looked at it and was like, oh wow you have to wait about a year for one of those...

This was my first rolie like 5 years ago and I remember them being everywhere, now they are like a commodity.

Me talking to a person at trade show: "Nice Submariner"

Them: "I don't follow"

Me: "Your watch, it is a Submariner, no?"

Them: "Oh my Rollie, yeah its the best - if you get a chance you should get one"

Why I enjoy my Explorer more every day.

disclaimer - Sub owner too

not sure what ur talking about bud but i see a submariner almost every single day, whether its on the subway or in an office building or on some food court.

submariner is hands down the most abused and misused watch out there.. you can pretty much guarantee every douchebag out there has one

100% correct! I see one everyday in NYC. Black subs are everywhere, mostly on the train. You can't pass by the financial district without seeing one.

not to say everyone who has a submariner is a douchbag, but i agree there are a lot of douchy people who know nothing about watches OR rolexes but for some reason the first one they turn to is a submariner

"If you ran into an asshole in the morning, you ran into an asshole.
If you run into assholes all day, you're the asshole."

Because you're perceiving all Submariner owners as a douchebag, does it make you one when you put it on? Or were you a douchebag before you put a hunk of metal on your wrist to represent who you are as a person? Seems to me you're viewing watches in the wrong way.

LMAO. One of my favorite quotes. I am not sure who said it first, but it was used and delivered well on a tv show called Justified that used to be on FX.
On that note.... Raylan Givens' watch in the pilot of that show was a Sub. After that episode, I believe they had him wearing cheap watches. A Sub really did not fit the character in my opinion.
