Crooked cyclops?
Hi all,
New to the Rolex community so please bear with me... Just bought a brand new BLNR from an AD a few days ago. Very happy to get my hands on one and AD let me know I was lucky. That being said, I've started to notice that my cyclops is slightly crooked. Am I seeing things? What do you think? As it's hard to find a BLNR in Canada these days, the AD didn't have another one to swap for me, but they said I could send have them send it to RSC. This is my first Rolex with a cyclops, so I'm not sure if this is just the quality I should be expecting. What would you do? Thanks! |

Its definitely crooked. If you can deal with it then keep it. If not, have them send it in. It would drive me nuts as I’m super ocd.

That would bother me and all I'd see was a crooked cyclops lens.
Now, if the watch was bought used at a good price I would not care but new, there is no way I'd accept that. |

Definitely crooked and unacceptable. Have the AD send it in for repairs.

Welcome to the forum, and to the brand. I'm sorry this is your first experience. I agree with the others: that cyclops is crooked, it shouldn't be, and it makes sense to send it in for repair. I know it sucks to have be without your new watch, but you'll be happier for it in the long run.

Thanks for the responses, everyone. I haven’t even taken off the stickers yet :( but looks like I’m leaning towards sending it off to RSC.
Anyone Canadians have experience with the RSC in Toronto? Will kick myself if this leads to more problems like dust in the dial or <2.5x mag....with my luck, who knows! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have only heard good things about RSC Toronto; never read a bad report here.
I took my sub there for regulation close to the expiry of my 2 year warranty. Was quite happy with their service. Might be quicker and easier for your AD to GET another for you. |

I would try to rotate the crystal a little clockwise to see if that would straighten it out.

The store manager who I purchased the watch from was away at a two day training session...presumably for new Basel releases ;) but I spoke to another employee at the AD yesterday and he kept saying he couldn’t see the defect, and even if he did, the watch is too hard to come by so he can’t swap one with me. I admit the crookedness is not as obvious in real life, but from his tone of voice, I don’t think he was really trying to help. |

I've taken my Rolex to him ever since I started collecting. You could have it looked after in the time it would take to enjoy lunch |

Had the exact same issue with my BLRO. The Dallas RSC took care of it.

I would definitely get that taken care of. Someone at Rolex may have had a liquid lunch that day.

I just don't get how something like that gets through Rolex quality control. Anyone with eyeballs can see that's not right, yet it managed to go right out the factory doors and right through some AD's watch case without being noticed. Amazing.
