With my 116710 I swim in the ocean, snowboard, chop wood, garden, etc. I never take it off for activities. It’s a stainless steel watch and is pretty darn durable. These watches are meant to be worn. Anyone who says otherwise shouldn’t own one.

Basically your Rolex is the same as a cowboy's cowboy hat.

I wear mine playing golf and I’ve worn an Explorer II, DJ2, Air King, etc. they are robust watches and I don’t worry about them.

Why do you need to wear a watch while playing golf? Personally, even if it's possible, I wouldn't do it. I find that a watch messes with my swing. I understand that lefty does it with his Rolex, but he's also lefty and a little watch wouldn't mess with his well-groved swing!

Your going to shear the auto rotor pin... Not sure how fast your swing speed is but you can put a lot of load on that pin, it's not worth the risk.

Take it off...besides they have a soft pocket in your golf bag just for storage of delegate things...use it.

I don't golf with a watch. The watch interferes with my wrist movement. I don't wear my wedding ring either. Everything is off!

I'm sure that if anything goes wrong with his RM, RM will fix it and nobody will ever hear about it. Club manufacturers are at tournaments to make adjustments and fix broken equipment. I especially wouldn't wear a complicated mechanical watch like a Richard Mille if I had paid for it. If RM paid for it and is paying you to wear it, then no biggie.

Well, RM's are really built for high G force impacts such as tennis and golf swings

On occasion when I have dropped a few pounds and the watch would slide down and interfere with the wrist. Otherwise no.

Usually wear a Sub. Just used to the weight. I did break a vintage 1016 Explorer once during a swing. Needed a service anyways. Other than that, never had a problem in 30 years. I swing 112 mph so I think a Rolex can handle most swing speeds.
Although I did shoot my low round of the year last week and did not have a watch on...superstition might have me try that again. Playing here in 2 hours so we will see.

I think I remember hearing Jack Nicklaus say he put his in his bag while playing. Of course, he had a DD and was Jack Nicklaus so didn't have to prove anything to anyone.

Yes I remove it. I see no reason to have it on my wrist. Risk of tan line. Risk of changing the weight ratio of my left wrist in relationship to my right wrist. Risk of a pin or springbar failure. Risk of impact with club and ground, stone, (or a pond) reverberating a major shock wave through that jiggles something a little bit wrong. If you have ever had the opportunity to try to play a shot out of water when your ball is completely covered by the water, you will know that you can cause serious damage in your wrist. Plus it's a bad idea, because of light refraction. I learned this lesson the hard way. I wonder if it would have damaged a mechanical movement. I wasn't able to play for about three months after playing a ball out of a hazard when it was completely covered by water. The unexpected impact was not pleasant and damaged my wrist pretty good.

Can you imagine how you would feel if you were taking that shot out of the water, hurt your wrist, and your Rolex went flying into the water shattering the sapphire crystal?

Too many unknown variables can happen when playing golf. Golf ultimately damaged my shoulders and elbows... I wonder how much repetitive shock would affect parts in the watch. If it will tear up your elbows and shoulders which have built in self repair functions but are weaker than the metal that makes parts, I wonder how many impacts it takes to cause damage to the movement or even crystal. Kind of like wondering how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop.

Yes. If you chunk your swing, the g forces going through the watch may not be good. Why risk hving to send your watch in for service early. If you are scratch golfer go ahead and wear it.

I don’t wear mine, but it’s not because I’m afraid of damaging it. For me, it’s a matter of discomfort and distraction. I don’t wear sunglasses, a ball cap, or a wedding bang, either.

I always take my nice watches off when playing golf and switch to my Apple Watch. This is much more comfortable and less likely to be damaged from impact.

I also have GolfShot app which helps me keep my score and gives me yardages.

I just don’t think it’s worth the risk to damage or scratch the watch for the pleasure of wearing that watch during those four hours.

I find it too uncomfortable to wear a watch while playing. So I don’t wear any watch.

You’re killing me. Winter is almost over, I need to get back out on the course.

I use a Garmin golf watch. I like to have all the distances to the green, clearing hazards, etc on my wrist without having to goof around with an app on my phone or use a rangefinder. It’s a great little tool for the course.
