What do you guys think of the black dial OP39 released Basel 2018? It is on the Rolex website.

Re:

The white dial in 34mm or 39mm is stunning, but black in both those case sizes look fantastic as well!

I agree the oyster perpetual range on all dials is nice. I am glad they keept the square colour contrast markers three years on from original release.

Do you all still like original and current blue, rhodium and grape dials?

I'm hoping with the increased interest in the new white and black dials that some discounts can be had on the original colours. I wouldn't mind adding a grape or rhodium dial OP to my collection.

I doubt you will get a discount on an entry level Rolex from AD

Back dial OP39 V Explorer 1

Do you guys prefer the Explorer 1 or the OP 39 Black dial?

Personally I've never really loved the Mercedes hands and the Arabics at 3/6/9 on the Explorer so those differences alone are enough to make me interested in the OP. A further point of differentiation is that it has a sunburst black dial as opposed to the flat black on the EXP.

I'll be interested to try it on side by side versus the Rhodium version.

Why not? These are not the hottest models. You regularly hear people around here having received discounts on OP's.
I had 10% of an OP36 blue dial at my AD, so surely possible

I think you can on the current models, but not on the new Basels in this market, at least not for a few months until they are sitting unsold in smaller ADs.

5% maybe on 36mm but I doubt you get a discount on 39. Maybe on purple 39 if they can't shift it, but the rhodium sells and takes a month or two to locate one.

Love it. Even though I have an Explorer I will be buying the black dial. I love the simple black dial with the baton indexes. Perfect simple watch & at 39mm what else could better just a Easylink extension.

I suspect if will be a staple at the ADs and readily available. It's great to finally see fully working lume on the OP39.

I think the new White and Black look great; however, I'd still prefer the Explorer.

You honestly can't go wrong with this watch anyway. Choose whichever you like best. The Explorer is sportier and this is dressier. It's just a matter of preference.

Besides the price, not sure why anyone would choose it over the Explorer I

Sorry guys, I find it bland, dull, boring. The OP range needs some fancy colours to revitalise it IMHO.

I'm glad the OP39 finally has some proper lume but in my own humble opinion I think Rolex would have been better off updating the Blue, Red Grape and Dark Rhodium dials instead of introducing a White and Black option.

Dislike mercedes hands. OP is dressy.
