Incoming from Thanh (aka Takuya)

my first “nice” watch was a Panerai, which I eventually sold when I kind of soured a little bit on the brand and decided they were all too big for my wrist.

of course a few years ago I start slowly but surely regretting it and maybe/kind of/sort of jonesing for one again. then the submersible came out in 42mm and I still tried to fight it for a while but should have known it was hopeless.

got in touch with Thanh earlier this week and now this one is safe and sound in my apartment in time for the weekend:

huge thanks to Thanh who is, as everyone here knows, amazing to deal with (and from whom being able to buy watches this easily is both a blessing and a curse).

this leaves me pretty happy with the state of the collection and planning (at least for now—I have very little willpower when it comes to these things) to take it easy for a while, but I’m still very curious to hear what people would add to this in future (I alternatively have thoughts of going vintage, and also of saving up for a 116500ln or a 15202st)...

Congratulations and very nice collection.

As to what to add next, I am not sure. Perhaps a Reverso if you like the style? Alternatively, I think a Royal Oak would also work well in your collection.

Thanks for all the kind words... took this one for a spin on Saturday and it acquitted itself beautifully. First weekend off work in some time so I naturally got more intoxicated than planned—my iPhone screen did not survive the shenanigans but the watch came out unscathed.

Really nice collection you have there. Couldnt agree more with adding a White Dial Ceramic Daytona and/or 15202ST

Congratulations. Why not go with a vintage PM DD. Fun watch and could change things up a bit in your collection.

thank you! sometimes I feel like it's a bit schizophrenic compared to some of the more "coherent" collections I see here but I can't help it...

thanks and I actually kind of like the thought of this too--would have to be WG though as I think I live too casually for yellow gold.

Great collection! Love that Grand Seiko.
Not a huge fan of the Panerai, but it looks great on your wrist!
