AD Damaged my bracelet

I went to Rolex AD to resize my hulk. But they damaged 2 screws. I bought it back and they replaced screws. But now when I get home I notice that the end of the screw pin on the opposite side are not matching with link. There not flush. Feel devastated because now I feel my Rolex is devalued. What would you guys suggest I do. Would Rolex help me if I contact them. It's still under warranty and I have the receipt for link removal but I do not want to go back to that AD. Thanks

Seems a bit dramatic, I am not an expert at all but surely they can just be adjusted so they are flush?

I dont think it can because the screwside is flush with link, maybe I am dramatic but I pay for perfection in Rolex now I can't stop thinking of the 2 imperfect links

Firstly, you haven’t devalued your watch

Secondly, Rolex won’t care

Just go back to the AD and tell them to get it right. Also if they charged you to remove a link, that’s pretty average of them...

I would probably take it to a different AD if I was in this situation.

Or, go back to the same AD and ask to speak to the manager.

It sounds like they replaced the screws with shorter spares they had available.

If it were me I would thank them for the prompt but temporary fix, and look forward to having the correct screws fitted when they are available.

Happened to me. They just put in the wrong length screws. Easy fix when I pointed it out. Replaced with correct ones in ten minutes while I waited.

Don't worry, just explain what they've done wrong. It happens!

It's not devalued - but the OP 'feels' it is because it bothers him (and I think quite rightly)

The AD charged you and got it wrong. I would be going back to them and insisting they get the correct screws and make it right and furthermore refund the initial charge and compensate you for the poor service.

I have no patience for AD's that do marginal work. If you can't take the extra 15 minutes and do it well, then you are in the wrong business and I now know that I need to go elsewhere..... This has happened to me as well and it is genuinely bothersome. I will buy from that same AD, but not ever let them size anything. Find another AD and then tell whoever it is your specific expected outcomes of the work....and I mean specific...that is what I do now. I even ask them.....are you able to take the screws in and out without scratching the bracelet and damaging the screws themselves. There is an exact screw driver tool for different type of screws.....rather than grabbing the correct one...they grab the "one they usually use".

Some people care and take time....some are too bothered that you asked them to do it....that is also why they charged you a fee.

I'd say the fee holds them accountable as well. They charged for a service and didn't provide a quality service....makes it worse on their end as now you can hold them to it.

Rolex bracelets are probably the easiest to resize in the watch industry thanks to their no nonsense screws... a shame that an AD can’t even get that right. I agree with others, seems like they gave you screws of the wrong size. Go back and have them correct it.

Not all screws are the same size as I recently found out while sizing bracelet myself!! The exact same screw needs to go into the same hole.

It isn’t the end of the world. At your leisure get the screws replaced. As already mentioned there is zero impact to the value of the time piece.

Take a deep breath. It is an easy fix. The watch has to been devalued.

But I am confused:

1. Did you purchase the watch new from this AD?

2. What happened to the original pins?

Take the watch back to the AD and ask them to replace the screws with the correct ones. Ask for a refund on what they charged you and move on. Inspect the watch before you leave to make sure all is right.

Rsc did the same thing to me with my daytona because I had asked for the screws to be replaced. When they gave me the watch I pointed it out and the tech said that its because the screws are cut specific to each bracelet (which I doubt). I told him to just put the old ones back on

On a serious note, just go back to the AD and explain that it seems the new screws are too short compared to the other ones and you'd like them to be replaced if its not too much trouble. The reasons are it doesn't look nice but most importantly they could get inadvertently unscrewed because they're not the good size. That would mean losing your watch.

If all should be lost you will be able to find the screws for little money on the Net. So you can have it fixed by who you trust in or do it yourself. I can believe that you find it unpleasant to turn back to that A D.

I am sorry to hear about the screws... hopefully they will resolve the issue for you.

But, I am stuck on the fact that they charged you for resizing. I have had many watches resized over the last 30 years, and I have never paid for adjusting the links on a watch bracelet.

How much did they charge?
