My 1st Rolex

Have been collecting watches for a few years and have never had Rolex in my radar. Until 2-3 years back when I was smitten by images of the shiny Cerachrom in Blue and Black. That's when my whole finances went haywire because I've set out to clear away much of my small watch collection and saved up to coincide my 1st Rolex purchase as a 40th birthday gift to myself, this year.

And so on my recent holiday visit to my best friend in Chicago (I flew in from Malaysia a few days earlier), I waited patiently on the delivery morning, then lo and behold, the Fedex delivery guy was on time to ring the bell to drop off the Rolex box.

It was a BNIB full set, bought from a reputable reseller (denmanproject). He's been a wonderful person to deal with, great buying experience.

Having had a Tudor Pelagos before, which I find is an amazingly made piece but easily scratched (because of the Titanium), I like the Rolex "Oystersteel" even more. Its weight, brushing and polished centre links brings out the watch, even when sighting from far away.

The amount of stickers, some visible some invisible, that are on it is quite a sight itself. Took a close look with a magnifier and the details on the dials, lume, ceramic bezel, crown, bracelet and all are just stunning. Sharp, crisp, machined with details.

Well, I'll be saving up more for a steel SkyDweller next. Or a Datejust for the wifey...

Cheers...

nice first rolex. it took me two datejust models & a yachtmaster to figure out
what i really wanted was a blnr gmt and hulk sub. granted, i wish the yachtmaster didn't have to go but the money was needed for my own blnr.

kudos to getting it right at your 1st at bat.

Congrats on your new Batman!! Wear it in good health!! The best part is taking off the stickers when you first get it and making it yours.

Yeah... Lovely feeling to have when removing the stickers. I have to say it's amazing how they manufacture the bracelet with stickers on so precisely placed.

Congrats man!!!

Btw. The blue doesn’t match the Ferris stitching, I think you may need to flip the car? :)

This hand painted logo (it's not sticker or a badge stick on) inside the paint is a $15k option. There goes a steel SkyDweller.
