After 1 year, Daytona is running 4-5 seconds slow...
Z Model, just about to go back to the AD for it's one-year check up, (they give me an extended warranty if I have it inspected once a year).
For the first time I've been checking the accuracy against the atomic clock, and for the last couple weeks it has been losing, very consistently, 4 to 5 seconds a day. Doesn't seem to matter if I use the stop watch or not. Should I give this a second thought? Should I ask the AD to do an adjustment? Is it a big deal to do an adjustment?. Please let me know if you guys think this is no big deal, within what you consider acceptable limits, or if I should ask the AD to do something about it. P.S. My old coke GMT seemed to be much worse, losing 4 to 5 minutes a month, so in quick-comparison this watch seems to be more accurate. Many Thanks for your opinions!!!! |

My Z daytona loses about -2 seconds a day and i'm happy with that. As you know 4-6 seconds either way is the tolerated norm but should you want it regulated (15 min job) why not have it done. You may as well. I think the next time i go to the RSC i'll have my Daytona regulated and see if it improves marginally? After all that's why we have a warrenty.

take it to beverly hills and get it done, you can wait for it and it will take about 30 mins. for as much as you spent you should be 100% happy with the watch :)

Agreed Brian, I'll head up there next week and have it regulated.
Thanks! |

4-5 seconds is fine, and I definitely wouldn't let any AD "inspect" it every year, too many horror stories about inexperienced staff at AD's sending watches back in a worse condition than they went in......If you must, get Rolex to service it every 5yrs or so.

Totally in agreement. My Daytona was running exactly 3 sec slow daily after the settling period of a few months. Had it regulated at Bexley and it run spot on. But now after 8 months it starting to run slow 2 sec daily. Might send back for adjusting.
