3rd party maker for assolutamente straps?

I am considering a PAM 512 and am trying to find an assolutamente-style strap that could work with it and use a deployant buckle. I'm a die-hard clasp guy and vastly prefer straps on a clasp to a pin buckle. I contacted Panerai CS and they indicated that the normal 22/20 and 22/18 asso straps won't work with a buckle because they're too thick. I love how those straps age over time and show wear. I can't tell what kind of leather it is or how it's been treated that gives it the unique characteristics.

Can anyone point me toward makers who produce a strap that has similar characteristics to the brown assolutamente strap?

Thanks, doesn't look like any of their nubuck straps are available for deployant in the 22/20 size. Bummer!

From what I can tell, no one makes an Asso-style strap as well as Panerai. I'd just go OEM for the Asso with buckle and get other straps on deployant.

As for non-OEM, TC Straps seems to have what you're looking for in nubuck with deployant, but I don't know anything about their quality.
