How much would you pay for stickers?

I'm curious. Our forum favorite has these two BNIB watches, one with stickers and one without. Price difference is 1.7K.

https://davidsw.com/product/rolex-11...-white-gold-3/

https://davidsw.com/product/rolex-11...8k-white-gold/

In this range, do you think the difference to get one with stickers is negligible?

On the other hand, SS stickers are much cheaper. Two brand new LV-Cs available and the one with stickers is only 300 bucks more.

$300 for stickers?

I’m sorry - maybe on a vintage NOS Rolex, maybe.

But on a modern Rolex from a trusted seller like DavidSW, keep the $300 in your pocket.

If you want stickers best buy from AD. If you want discountbbest buy pre owned. You need a substantial price difference to justify not buying from AD. Most watches you will get with patient and multiple phone calls.

Hopefully ADs worldwide will remove all stickers at the time of purchase and end this madness.

IMHO anyone paying extra for sticky back plastic must be sixpence short of a shilling. After all any sane person would remove stickers before wearing. And just because a watch has stickers on dont mean its never been worn or brand new..

So true. All but one 116500LN that I've encountered in the wild was fully sticker-free. We had a good laugh when I complemented him on removing his stickers before complementing his watch.

So you'd not pay 1.7k for stickers.

i fully agree with this

However as a member of the sticker police there are a lot of people on this forum who leave them on and wear their watch that way. Its like fingernails on a chalk board for me.

Happy to have stickers removed and I definitely wouldn't pay extra just to have them in place.

Nope. The whole sticker thing seems silly to me. Say you pay the extra then remove the stickers: there you are with the same watch on your wrist, less money in your bank account and little sticky plastic in the trash can.
If you want stickers, go ahead with the full AD experience.

Yes but they are now required to remove before you leave the store. Now whether they all follow the rule or not is a different story.

As for worth of stickers to me it is easy answer big fat 0!

I’ve been hearing that for awhile now. However, 3 weeks ago I bought a new Sub from an AD and he asked me if I wanted him to remove the stickers. I declined and said I’d do it, but I asked for the plastic bezel protector. He said that Rolex did not allow them to include the protector, which I had not heard before.

Same goes for bezel protectors now as well. As I stated whether or not they follow depends on AD and customer. They will likely bend for people they know well but not new people as you never know if it’s a mystery shopper.

This is really upsetting. If they can't sell a complete set anymore it's a sad state of affairs.

Some people (ADs) never follow the rules!

I feel lucky, my AD let me keep the bezel protector and not the stickers

It’s a mystery to me why anyone would buy a 10kplus watch and not remove the sticker or want to wear it? I am a collector and An NOS watch is always a no no. It’s absurd.

Many people value the “experience of buying a new watch”. Stickers are paramount to this. The same goes with buying a new dream car. I see many want every plastic sticker or manufacturing tag. I kept all my stickers just for fun. This hobby has changed so much over the last few years that you never know if the stickers may be considered part of a ”full set” in the future.

That’s pretty much how I am. If I buy from an AD I want to peel the stickers myself. It’s part of the fun. The last one I bought however the AD said if I wanted to peel them I’d have to peel them in the store. I laughed and just told them to do it while sizing it.

Now if I’m not buying from an AD... I’d never pay more for stickers.

How much would you pay for stickers?

not everyone buys a bnib to wear, so they want them on since it’s meant to be kept in the safe.
anyways, i buy to wear but not everyone behaves like u or me.
nothing wrong or right or weird about all this. if u truly buy a watch to wear, why do u keep the box, tags, booklet etc?
resale? there u go...

Precisely why Rolex made it a new rule to remove them before watch leaves the store.

Not true, never sold a watch and never will.
Like many others I only want to unpack and seize my watch in the privacy of my home.
