Suddenly occurred to me that since Im halfway to 90 it’s time to finally buy an all gold watch. I have it narrowed down to the yellow gold blue SubC and the yellow gold daydate 40 with champagne dial and Roman numerals. I currently own a 14060 which I will never part with but plan on passing down to my son in 8 more years so this will be the watch I will die with. Wish I could buy them both but it is what it is. What would you guys choose?

YG with silver dial. Easier to read with my over 50 eyes.

As I'm half way to 110

I would pick the YG DD but with white dial, as I now find it very difficult to read the champagne dial on my late fathers TT DJ as my eyes have deteriorated.

I'm currently thinking of doing exactly the same thing, and I'm looking out for a white batten dial YG DD.

Given the two specific models you mentioned, the gold Sub would be my pick. Now if it was the YG DD40, that’d be my pick.

Its a very personal choice. Two totally different watches, one is more dressy than the other so it depends on how you normally dressed since this will be your only watch. Personally I would go for the DD but may be with rose gold and brown dial. The Sub has better lume though so it is easier to read in any light condition. Good dilemma to have, congratulations in advance.

No way! That’s my favorite watch. It’s my grail. More pics please!!! To the OP, since you are 45, I say hands down get the gold sub. The sun burst blue dial contrasted against the gold is a thing of beauty. Please let us know which one you decide on
