Golf opening day....
Living in the Midwest I don’t have the luxury to golf year round. Today was my first day out and opening day at my club...to say the least it didn’t go well lol
Who’s a golfer here!? How are they swinging? |

I play, maybe once or twice a month. Currently sporting a 13.5 index. Must feel good to be back out there. Here in the Bay Area, we can play year round. I wrenched my back 2 months ago so I'm on a slight hiatus.

Play 2-3 times a week. Practice at least one other day. 4.3 index. Played this morning but played like
82 no birdies....worst round in weeks. Love the game. So hard to get good and be consistent. Trying to get to zero. Happy with my swing and short game but really need to work on focus thru the whole round. Was 1 under thru 5 got a bad break on 6 and lost my rhythm for a few holes. Need to eliminate those lapses. Be back at it in the AM.

Playing tomorrow. Great weather here most of the time, except during the rainy months Jan-Mar. I shot 85 last week, which is my usual score range (83-88), give or take a few strokes. Have not established a handicap in a long time. I don’t usually practice and get out once a week so I cannot expect much improvement. I have a dozen rounds in the 70s with my best being a 75 (36/39) last year. My achilles is mostly putting, miss too many inside 10 feet. But I still have fun every round. Fore!! Hit em straight. Aloha, Tim

I love to play.... opening day at our course was 2.5 weeks ago. 12:44 tee time today . I get out at least 3x per week. Last 18 hole round was on Thursday and I shot 78 (no birdies, 6 bogies). Index is a 6.

Well true to form I shot 86 today. :) Also true to form I missed most of my putts between 6-10 feet. Burn the edge of the cup all day long. Geez if I could drop those pesky 6 to 8 footers my score would be 6-8 strokes better every week. Oh well, I'm in Hawaii so I can't complain too much. This is the course I play most weeks, it's called Mamala Bay Golf Course and it is on the Air Force side (Hickam AFB) of Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam.
Aloha all, Tim |

I hope to get back at it this year - I've had a few back surgeries but was a +3.6 prior to that - a bit terrified to see what it will be now! On the other hand - just super stoked to be even thinking about playing!

There is zero functional purpose to wearing a Rolex while golfing. I leave mine at home. Would be curious on others’ thoughts.
I don’t need to impress my playing partners. They wear high end watches as well. |

I take my watch off and put it in my golf bag wrapped in a hand towel. Just to make sure I do not smack it against a club head or something around the course. Not worried about hitting balls with it on, just my clumsiness handling things while wearing it. :)

Some people wear their watches simply because they enjoy it.

My local course still has snow on it. But to answer the recent question, I put my watch in my bag when I play. I don't like how it feels on my swing.

I wear what’s ever in rotation!! Be it Tag, omega, or any one of my rolex’s. They can take it!

Only played one round at my club last year so this year I actually froze my membership. Just had a baby in November so I figured I'd have even less time to play.
So far... I don't miss it. but, we'll see how it goes.

League started last week and I shot a 39. Felt like I salvaged the round after a snowman on the 2nd hole. Short game went to hell over the winter but that’s to be expected I guess.
Anyone here have an Evnroll putter? I need a new putter this year and am very intrigued with these. I played around with one at the store, but I’m skeptical that they can last for 3+ years designed how they are. |
