My AP and new Cufflinks

I got these new onyx cufflinks as I thought they'd go well with my AP 44 and think they set it off very nicely. Very pleased with them.

Was also nice to get it back on the rubber strap from the GP, feels very smooth.

Echo that! The GP is not suited to this weather.

Great thing is we can keep changing it up

Cheers Sam, yes, I thought it would be too boring for me now but I'm really enjoying it again and also how the pure black brings out the RG more, while the GP brings out the dial and red accents more. I'll probably change up every couple of months or so. Grey was not for me, too jarring.

Very nice Neil and I agree on the GP strap. I really like the strap but I don’t think you can beat the 44 rubber strap. For me as a design and comfortable fit it’s a very close second to the RM rubber strap.

GP is in reference to the calf and alcantara strap as found on the ROO GP watch hence coining the name GP.

Comes in two style one with red accents and one with grey as below (red pics I nabbed off here but forgot the owner, grey GP on the Ti is mine)

RM stands for Richard Mille as in the watch brand.

Thanks!!

And yes, after googling that GP strap I agree with you, not the best for the summer.

GP refers to the AP Grand Prix which was their formula 1 inspired watch, the strap for the GP model was significantly different to any others in the AP range and has possibly stood the test of time a little better than the hornback strap which some people consider a little bit dated.

Thanks! I agree, the hornback looks kinda weird but the GP is really nice! Love the red accents on the sides!

I think the hornbacks go well with the SS bezels and make the watch more smart, and they are ofc quite iconic to AP, but with the sporty CE bezels the sportier straps work better.

I’d like a set to match my openworked but unlike Patek it appears AP ones are gifted or purchased via resellers and these cannot be purchased direct.

Are you sure? I’ve previously spoken to Daniel about them but I’ve never followed it up. TBH I don’t think I would wear AP cuff links enough to justify the cost but I can imagine with your fancy lifestyle you’d be able to wear them almost daily.

No I’m not sure as I’ve never actually asked Daniel it was just something I must of read or seen posted maybe I’m wrong and it just because PP advertise theirs on their site and AP don’t.

Also I’m too tight so will wait for a set to be gifted haha

I spoke to Daniel about this regarding my business making cufflinks for AP. From recollection they've recently started issuing them again for sale, I think, not gifting, although I might be wrong.

If you scroll down a bit on the website you can see the cuff links shown here and they show the price of $1600, so I’d assume you can buy them at a boutique. Wouldn’t expect them to give them for free if they cost that much but that would be great haha

I’m not sure when exactly but I’m pretty sure it’s been there for a while. I started looking at the website a lot when I was starting to try to decide which watch to order around December or January. And I don’t remember any big changes in the website since then, mostly changes in what’s shown on the homepage. So I don’t know when they were added but I definitely remember seeing them around a month ago for sure though.

Guess I need glasses! In my defence I do use the AP App a lot recently.
