Dilemma on what to get?!

Hi guys,

I am currently still deciding on which vintage to get as my first. I was looking into getting either a maxi 5513, 1680 white but realized that to find one with original inserts with dial and original hands in the UK would be slightly out of my budget.
So I did some research and came across the 16800 and it seems that they are around the 7-8k gbp point which is my budget and it can be worn as a daily wearer.

I was wondering what you guys think about the 16800 and what is a fair price to pay for one in good condition? or should i save up abit more and wait to get a maxi 5513 or 1680?

Thanks

They are all great references. Depends on whether you want acrylic vs sapphire, date vs no date, movement preference, getting a watch now vs saving up for future, and also market availability.

I also had a lower budget and went for a matte dial 16800 myself, wearing it today. I am happy with my decision, but I am sure I would have been happy the other way round too.

Thanks. Yes, the cyclops is easy to take off on non ceramic / older Subs. I do not know about the different Mark dials and how they differ in price (I don’t think they do), but I remember seeing another thread on it in this forum. There is a clear price difference though between the earlier matte dial 16800s and the later glossy dial with WG surrounds around markers.
