Does your watch match your wedding band??

I am interested knowing if the TRF members consider their wedding band color before buying a watch (TT or SS) or if they consider their watch color before selecting a wedding band color (yellow gold or platinum and yellow gold).

Hmmm...

I think a wedding band should be a wedding band and you should decide that with your wife/husband to be, and not by what watch you have.

Given that, we have PT wedding bands, and most of our watches are SS or WG so no issues there I do have a RG watch, but it doesn't bother me to wear it with the PT wedding band.

My thoughts exactly. I wear a RG wedding band with SS watches. Also, I am wearing a brown strap with my black accessories so matching things up is not a necessity for me.

Yes, most of my Rolexes are SS and my wedding band is 18K white gold. The exception is with my TT blue Sub.

I did when buying my TT GMT IIc as my wedding ring is solid gold with a half carrat diamond in the center.

I think the watch matches the ring very nicely.

I have a SS Date Submariner as well as a SS RGM Chronograph and a SS Tag Heuer Kirium Chronometer.

I would like that the ring matched all of my watches but I am too old to care.

Life goes on and I like all of my watches.

I found an easy and inexpensive answer to that issue. For years I wore a TT DJ so therefore the wedding band color didn't matter (BTW it was YG). As soon as I sold the TT and started wearing an SS Daytona I simply mentioned to my wife in early December of that year how odd it looked to be wearing an SS watch with a YG band.

Guess what showed up on Christmas day under the tree..........

You guessed it........... a WG wedding band that was an exact match to my original YG band. Since she bought the band I can say it didn't cost me a dime right?

Now I have SS, WG, YG & Plat and it doesn't matter which one I wear cause I have a wedding band to match.

I recently saw some wedding bands that had a brushed finish that matched an Oyster Bracelet perfectly. There was a few with a polished center and brushed outer rim as well that matched polished bracelets quite well

I have three different Wedding bands to match most of my watches, however I'm going to need a rose gold after I get my PAM 231 from layaway.

I never forget to match the watch because I keep the wedding bands with the watches and put them on at the same time in the morning after I'm dressed for the day.........

SS Sub Date/YG Wedding band

Got the ring before the watch but had decided on both before I had either.

Always knew that, if married, my preference would be a YG ring w/comfort fit and a very slight edge detail. Pretty much the standard issue among the males in my family because of the classic look and ease of wearing while golfing. Except for cleaning hasn't been off since the day it was placed there five+ years ago.

Also had decided that if/when I got one "the" Rolex to have was/is SS Sub Date, again a nod to the classic appearance and family "preference". Several SS, a couple TT and one WG in the family Rolex "collection" but no YG.

Interesting point....
My original wedding ring, from nearly 30 years ago, is a 6 mm plain 24kt yg band and made wearing SS watches a little fashion awkward and out of synch.
So, my wife gave me on our 15th anniversary a similar mm width plain platinum band.
And now, all of my watches, whether SS or TT or all gold have a corresponding band to match.
Thanks honey for making it so easy and fashion forward.

I wear a gold ring with a dragon engraved on it. It was given to me as a present by my grandmother. It doesn't match my SS watches at all but I still wear the ring and watch on the same hand anyway. It does look good. My Longines with its gold finish does match it somewhat.

Im recently engaged, and my girl suggested a cheap ring and a new Rolex! I think I am going to just opt to a ring- no watch... The way I see it, one watch buyer is bad enough (me)- heaven forbid her getting fond of timepieces--- we will be broke in no time!!!

The primary reason that I purchased a TT YM was that it matched my wedding band color and the other yellow gold jewelry that I occasionally wear.

My wife taught me long ago that things must "match". With that out of the way, I will be getting a SS Sport model in the future. Most likely the GMT II Coke or IIc.

My wife is into that match crap....I could care less.
I have a 14kt white gold and 14kt YG wedding band, both are identical. ....maybe 4 mm?
I wear the white gold about 360 days out of the year.
I have a 18 kt yellow gold IWC I keep in a deposit box I wear the YG band with a few times a year.

Mine do not match (YG band, SS watch) and I could care less...you know what they say, Rules Were Made To Be Broken - fashion is no different. Then again, I don't feel too bad 'cause sometimes I wear my YG college ring...so at least the two rings match.

We were married 6+ years ago (at age 26) and while I realized EVERYONE seemed to be jumping on the current fashion trend of WG or Plat wedding bands, we decided to go the traditional route of YG. The way I see it, when the YG wedding band trend comes back 30 years from now, we'll be 'hip old farts' with our original bands.

My "fashion faux pas" (DS pictured w/ my beloved Annapolis 'Ring Knocker' class ring)...obviously couldn't capture everything in one pic 'cause I sport the watch on the 'wrong' wrist. Cheers.

We had these matching rings made...they are fully independent links that collapse just like a good 'ol Oyster bracelet!

I have been married for 13+ years and only wore my wedding band on our wedding day...I'm just not the ring wearing type and my wife has no issues with that! My band is YG, so I guess it matches my TT Blue Sub, but that's it!

my wedding band is red gold and white gold with diamods on both sides (vertically), so it doesnt really match my watches.

my first option was to get a red gold Omega HV with brown strap, but thought that was too mature for me, and then the Sub LV did not come with a red gold (evergold) version.... last months saw a Speedy date did have a red gold/SS version, didnt look too bad me thinks (but i have a SS w/ blue dial version).

not really too fussed about matching the wedding band and the watch, since i have them on different hand/arm.
