BLNR Stock?
Hey All,
New to the forums. Looking to get my hands on a GMT Master II BLNR as my first Rolex. I'd like to buy it from an AD so I can establish a relationship. Any tips on how to not wait years for this? |

I went to Shreve and co. in Palo Alto. They took my info and put me on their list. They said 3-6 months but maybe sooner. I’ve called other AD’s and some have said 1-2 years!!!
Does anyone know if these will start to trickle out again? |

I dropped by the Shreve & Co. in downtown SF and they told me their waitlist for the BLNR is about 1 year. So I would say 3-6 months is good.

It might pay also to go to Shreve and co. On post street in the city. They’re super nice. I got my blnr from them last June. They do have a list but they also don’t know when the Batmans are coming, so it pays to drop in and chat occasionally, if you can. You never know. I suspect your wait will be shorter than they think.

I was told it would take around 3 weeks, then the next day I got a call saying that it was there. Maybe now the demand for this watch is much higher. |

Easiest way would be to buy a few Datejusts and maybe a PM watch, then you’ll get the BLNR from an AD.
If you’re only looking to grab the BLNR, shop around but be prepared to be patient. |

As for “a few Datejusts” a single PM piece would most likely be cheaper and just as likely to get OP a BLNR.

Seems like myself and the OP are Rolex shopping "twins" with the same goal! I'm hoping to find a BLNR at my local AD as well. This will be MY first Rolex too. On top of it all is that I am also in the SF Bay Area, and I suspect we probably have been calling the same AD's!
This is probably a good tip watchmework, but unfortunately buying a few Datejusts is not in my budget! Lol! |

I figured, more times than not it isn’t within what people are looking to do. You’ll have to ride it out on the search for one at an AD then or pay a little premium and grab it from a trusted seller then. Good luck! |

Best bet would be to purchase in a smaller market area. Inside SF might be tough but an AD in a smaller town (but not too small) should be able to get you one within a few months. I've seen two sitting in cases within the last couple months of visiting ADs. They aren't that rare IMO.

Head to ADs in smaller cities around San Francisco. Pretty any store in SF won’t have one for new customer

Do AD's play this game? They won't pull out certain watches they may have in stock for new customers? I can understand if the watch might be spoken for by a current client, but if not.....do they still hold back from new customers?

Wow, I had no idea. I started to get that feeling though from other discussions and threads on this forum as well. This will be my first time dealing with an AD, and I automatically assumed that it was just a straight forward thing. Watch in stock, pay the MSRP price, done. If the watch you want is not in stock, place it on order, wait and when it arrives......go in and pay, pick it up, done. Not so simple I guess!!

Yes. Turdneau in San Francisco once told me - about a different Watch - “We don’t have one. But if we did, we wouldn’t sell it to you...it would go to a VIP.” Whoomp there it is. |

I was told by my local AD that I would have to buy "multiple" Rolexes from them before I could even get the chance to purchase a ceramic Daytona from them. They even went as far to say Rolex would take their license if they sold me a Daytona with no previous Rolex purchases from them. I was honestly shocked to hear this. I know this happens with exotic car dealerships but that was my first time hearing about that with the watch market.

My wife purchased a BLNR for me for my 35th bday. First Rolex. We walked into our local AD in Destin, Fl. Thete it set in the case.
Asked to see it and pulled the trigger. No wait, no list, no b.s. and our first purchase. About 5 months later they had another In The case next to a Hulk and a deep sea. I think it's just timing. This past week just purchased my second Rolex a new Air King .. their stock was a little more limited but they did have a PM Pepsi in the case and a few other sport models. The only models you currently have to get on a waitlist there are for Daytona, Skydweller and the 18 Basel releases. I was actually offered a Blue Skydweller coming in at MSRP. However after making a large purchase for my wife recently my budget was no longer in the higher price range I was in before. Good luck and give the LN consideration. If I did it again id purchase the LN over the Blnr. |

With regards to the OP, the BLNR has been out for quite a while. I'd just wait it out at Palo Alto, they'll get you one eventually. |

Brother I don’t think you’ll have a problem finding one. As beautiful as the watch is, and I know, because I own one, they might be the second easiest sport watch to find new aside from the Explorer.

You might be thinking of the LN, which is what your photo shows. The BLNR isn't as easy to find as an LN.
