What are your thoughts on the 16760 vs the 16710 Coke? I know most of the differences. Also what bracelet, oyster or jubilee?

The Fat Lady has to be the one! I’m thinking of looking for a birth year for me. 1985 on an Oyster. Unfortunately an ‘85 Daytona is completely out of the question and I’m not so fond of older Datejusts/Day-Dates. I guess an ‘85 5513 would be cool, but the nicest ones are from the ‘60s and ‘70s.

I'd go with a 16760 with a 93150 bracelet that was an option at the time.

16710 if you get a Luminova/Super Luminova dial and prefer to have RSC to service it. 16760 if you're comfortable going independent. Anything tritium will be a challenge to keep original if it goes back to Rolex.

I personally like the 16710 D Series with the 78790A SEL bracelet. I modded my bracelet with a Glidelock clasp which works great, one of my favorite watches to wear.I love the fact that you can change out the inserts in a flash and basically have a different looking watch.

I'd go with the 16760 if it is a correct watch. Many have had their dials and/or hands changed through the years due to cracking or corrosion.

I wouldn't mind having one but I like the 16710 profile better. But the 16760 has a real place in GMT history and finding a true good example like springer mentioned is truly rewarding because they're becoming like unicorns.

You mean Coke Bezel insert- not Dial.

I'm actually sweating that actual choice between those two as my next. I like the idea of the 16760 because it has many firsts in the GMT lineage but I'm worried about the age, getting one that is correct and how far the fading is going to get as you wear it.

The 16710 appeals to me because you can get one with decedent age and can watch it patina while you wear it. You get a somewhat new watch and you get to age it under your ownership
