You Might Want to Wait on That Batman

I talked to a salesperson at an AD today, and she said all the GMT models are getting the new movement this year. Has anyone else heard this?

It would be worth waiting if that turns out to be true, which will only be verified when they start showing up at the ADs so good luck trying to find out.

Does that mean the value of the old ones will increase?
Should I invest in an old model?
If I had 3 old model BLNR's a Sea Dweller and 2 Daytonas what would they be worth in 7 years?
Will the new movement fit in the old case, and will Rolex to change it free of charge under warranty?
How much discount can I expect on the new model?

Only an AD knows the answers to these and other pressing questions

Really? You want to park your money in watches for 10 years. You do know that most of us can make more money than putting money into a luxury item. If it makes you happy then go for it.

1. Definitely
2. Absolutely
3. $89,456.27
4. No. No.
5. 0% in major cities. 2% in smaller cities.

Except this one because it is discontinued!

I reckon they will discontinue the batman in steel and discontinue the blro in white gold and put the batman bezel on the white gold watch with the new movement. The blue/black bezel is probably the most desired one out there and if they are having trouble making it they will most likely only want to put it on their most exclusive model.

That means those select few how have the steel version will be very lucky as it will most likely go up in value

You have no idea if this is true, about it being the most desired. There was never a Pepsi in steel prior to this year, it could blow the BLNR out of the water sales wise. And judging by wait lists and the amount of interest, looks like what I’m saying is true.

And what are you talking about ‘having trouble making it’? Red and blue is more difficult than blue and black?

Yes, that's very old news. Do a search.

Dear OP, quite a lot of AD's are talking so much rubbish that hardly anybody here believes anything they say at all.
Also Rolex is known for total secrecy about new releases, policies or regardless what and certainly does not share any of this with their AD's.
It is safe to say that an AD claiming otherwise is living in a different world than the rest of us.
Many posts have been made about "my AD" , hence the cynicism

Will it be blue? Will it have a clear case back to see the new movement in all its high reserve glory. If I wait am I guaranteed a new movement? Will there be a waitlist or should I just wait on my own list?

I don’t think many will ‘want’ to wait even longer for a Batman if they’re after one especially considering the current supply issues.

Frankly it would make sense for them to update eventually. I doubt anyone knows the timeline though.....
