Pepsi wait
I put my name down for the new pepsi the day it came out, and i spoke to my AD yesterday and they told me a 4-6 year wait.
What do you think to that? is that fair as in about right or is that taking the piss? should i just wait for it and when i eventually get called just buy it anyway? Thanks for all the input and knowledge from everyone much appreciated. Daniel Watson |

Dont bother waiting

At this point I think any estimate is a wild guess.

He’s lying... they know the watch will be in high demand, if you spend a lot of money with your AD it won’t be that long, if you don’t they will get some but customer who they don’t consider to be top spenders won’t see them for a while... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Ridiculous
I love my watches and the Rolex brand but waits for watches. No thanks. Either price them to ringfence the elite or make more I’m buying other brands now. In the last 3 years Omega Tudor Jaeger leCoultre My two omega special editions from Basel world 2018 are turning up starting next month Wonderful to walk into an AD:Boutique, see the watch you want, sit down, try it on and haggle to buy it there and then. Rolex was like this 4 years ago. Now it’s just a rubbish experience. Waiting 1-3 years for the main pieces you’ve never seen. Madness |

You Brits crack me up sometimes.
I concur that any time estimate right now is just a guess.

They don't want to deal with you + they want to avoid that you check permanently regarding the status.
Buy more inventory / build a relationship, wait until the model is less hot, buy with a premium at TS/grey, try your luck by traveling (e.g. AD at an airport) or move on and spend your money somewhere else :) Other brands make nice watches, too! |

I wouldn't consider waiting on any watch for 4-6 years. Either move on, or pay a premium from a reseller if you want it that badly!

That means you don't need to be serious on the waiting list of this AD. Anyway you should shop around or buy more from the AD if you want it sooner. Otherwise just wait and it is not too bad if it can arrive in 4 years. It is just a luxury watch where is the urgency?

I know this is another "My AD Said" post, however I just heard yesterday that there is no "list", rather when one comes in the owner of the store will decide who to sell it to.
Kinda sucks, but I guess I have a strong case because I did not flip my blue SKyD |

No wait list at my AD in West Sussex. Too much hassle apparently.

Put yourself in the shoes of the AD for a second. A REALLY, really good AD, with a strong Rolex relationship is gonna get, what, 4-6 of these a year? OF COURSE these are going to previous buyers. It's basic business. Coming in cold off the street and asking for the most valuable relationship chip that an AD has and being shocked that they can't deliver it is just a tad naive, no? Buy something from them. Show that you mean business. As long as you're not dealing with a mega chain like Boucherer, WoS, Tourneau, etc...you'll find that getting the pieces you want only requires some modest patience and mutual respect.

The idea that there are all these people walking around buying watches they don't want is ridiculous. If you don't want them the grey market is cheaper

I understand that some people buy 12 watches a year from the same AD and so "the list" only exists for those customers. For all other customers there is only the grey market. |

This. I mean no disrespect toward people that buy lots of watches and have huge collections... But if you want ONLY that watch, I don’t think it makes sense to buy more watches just for this one. You know what I mean? Spend $20k or more to be allowed a chance of buying what you want? Or pay a private seller $6k over msrp for the watch? These are things that you might have to ask yourself. lol when that time frame is considered good then we are really way down the rabbit hole!
AD's will get 4-6 a year, greys will get double or triple that

They don’t value you as a customer. You won’t get this watch unless they value your business. Sad state of affairs but it’s where we are.

Sounds like the AD is trying to be kind and basically letting you know try somewhere else... or simply buy from grey market.

Do people really still think that if you put your name on an imaginary list in 2018 they will still have your name on that list in 2024 and call you....a lot can happen in 6 years!
