Pair a black DaytonaC with....?

Hello,
My name is Rick and I’m new to the forums. I’ve had a black Daytona 116500 for a few months and would like to add a second watch to my collection. The only other watch I own is a white Omega AT Quartz which I’ve had for several years.

While I can appreciate the AP Royal Oak, Rolex Hulk, etc, I prefer understated/simple (no interesting colors, shapes, etc) watches. What would you recommend? My wrist size is 6.75”

Patek 5167 or 5164.

Are you opposed to a 5 digit watch? What about a 16710 GMT or a 16570 Polar?

Yes, I would prefer to buy new. I also prefer the look of the 6 digits watches. Would you suggestions be the same for the 6 digit models?

You can't go wrong with a SubC 114060.

Unless if feels uncomfortable on your wrist as it did on my 6.5 inch wrist. I much prefer the 116600 SD4K. Rick, you might see if you can find one of those. 14060 is a great 5 digit sub as well!! Welcome to the forum as well.

I second the Patek 5167 (simple and understated) or the OP39. Probably the white OP will add variety to your black DaytonaC.

My 6.75" wrist doesn't like the 6-digit GMT/Sub. Very much prefer the 5-digit ones.

Hey Rick, what about taking a look at the polar explorer 2? If not that, I would recommend a sub date.

If funds are not an issue why not get the white dial Daytona-C. Nice two watch collection.

White dial Daytona or if you can swing it somehow a 5711 would be great pair as well.

Tough call without a price range. I like the idea of a white dial. Exp2, Daytona, OP39.

OP here,
I like a lot of the suggestions so far:
Explorer II Polar
Patek 5711
116610LN
Oyster Perpetual
116500 White

Except for the sub, I’ve never actually handled any of these other watches, so I’ll be doing that.

I don’t think I have a price range necessarily. I’d say probably under $15k? But could be stretched to $25-30k if I really fall in love

FWIW, I have a black dial daytona and also have a platinum dial YM and a BLNR. I am on the list for a white dial daytona. While not understated, the YM feels the heaviest and most special on the wrist.

Latest Polar Explorer 2 fits your description and is available at most ADs.

Not sure if your budget, but a white dial Patek 5726 SS bracelet is an excellent choice too. Long waitlist though.

I’m not really a big fan of having the same watch with a different dial color.

If you want to keep on a classic mood but with an iconic look, go for the AP 15202 . A true beauty, you'll learn to appreciate that shape.

you say you don't like colors, you say you like simple.

my man, white face explorer 2 at 42mm is right in your wheelhouse and very different than your daytona.

what say you?
