Would you say
Would you say the SD43 is the ultimate SS watch? Every time I look at it I just think they did an excellent job. Bracelet, size, movement etc.

I think for a big wrist 8”+, yeah, I’d call it the ultimate. I liked mine 100x more than I liked my d-blue, although I haven’t seen the updated DSSD yet.
Overall I feel the submariner 116610 is nearly perfect (as well as the 114060), if you have a huge wrist, I get why it might not work for you. The SD43 solves that problem. It’s a winner for sure IMO. Conversely, if you have a tiny wrist, it’d make no sense at all. |

I'd say the 116610, but that's just me.

It’s certainly a matter of opinion, but the 43mm SD is my second least favorite Rolex right behind the DSSD which is my least favorite of them all. I would never own either of these watches in a million years.
Just my own opinion

If I had larger wrists, maybe. But, as it stands it's the LVc for me. Though a RO extra thin 39mm would be a solid contender for me.

The "ultimate" SS watch probably isn't a Rolex or a dive model since 'ultimate' can mean anything to anyone. As far as luxury divers go, the SD43 is up there but I'd prefer it smaller and cyclops-free. An updated SD4K would have been my preference.
My ultimate Rolex SS is either going to be a GMT or Daytona. I'm a bigger fan of the GMT and chronograph movements despite owning nearly every SD model going back to the 1665. My ultimate Rolex diver hasn't been released yet. Maybe some day. |

My favorite GMT would be tough. The 16750 matte dial, 16760 and 116710LN would likely find themselves in a tie unless the SS BLRO or TT CHNR change my mind. The CHNR isn't technically "SS" so it can't be my "ultimate" -- at least not in this thread. |

Agree, for big wrist yes. I was offered one last week and passed as it's just simply too big for my wrist.

I’d say it is the ultimate SS watch for some people.

I'd buy the SD43 over any Sub Date (including the LVc), but I like the new DSSD Deep Blue even more.

It is, for me
It hits all the marks And the fact it’s an anniversary edition is a cherry on top

I wouldn’t say it’s the ultimate SS watch but it’s a very nice one and do like it.

I would love to add it to my sea dweller collection as all the dwellers are favorite model of Rolex. I’ll let you know when I win the giveaway:)

I think many would say the "ultimate" SS Rolex is the Daytona given both its high demand and secondary market pricing.
The ultimate SS watch across the board right now has to be the Nautilus 5711. Both watches are better sizes for the general public (both large or small wrists). |
