What watch would you buy?

I need some input. I have been going back on forth on what watch to buy. I currently have a GMT IIc. I would like to buy another watch for a daily wearer.

Here are my two choices.

Tudor Chrono. Fully serviced with box and papers....$3800



Or a Pre-Owned M Series Submariner Date...$3900

but why cant your gmtIIc be a daily?

Tudor Chrono.

I have to have a date window in my watches. So the Tudor Chrono is, for my uses, superior to the Daytona. It's really the only racing chrono I'd own. It kicks the Subbie's butt in my opinion, and is more useful and more rare.

X2. The Tudor Chronos are not getting any cheaper. They are way underrated and valued. Far less were produced compared to a Rolex Sub. The Subs are a dime a dozen and one can be had anytime. Tudor

Do you really need a Chrono for some reason??

If not get the Sub Date.... Not saying the Chrono wont be reliable BUT the Sub will be ever more reliable. (less moving parts)

Also this sub is a true classic.



But which you want do not buy a watch with hopes of a good resale.

I don't need the Chrono. It would just be for looks. My only reservation with the Tudor is the age of the watch. It is 9 years old and I have never seen on in person. The Sub is less than a year old.

I have given up the thought of buying a Daytona because it does not have a date. I have to have the date!!

Joe, you know that Tudor Chrono is gonna haunt you til you own it, you already have the magnificent GMT IIc which eats the Sub's dinner any day ( ok, heresy I know but I've gone & said it ) so what are you waiting for? Jump in & get the Tudor

The Sub, and for an M series a great price (assuming that the condition is also good). The Tudor Chrono is overpriced (probably so, because of lack of availability here in the US). A BNIB Tudor Chrono could be had for around $2200-$2300 USD at AD's Hong Kong (I know, because I shopped for one last year and received quotes from 3 AD's).

Definitively Tudor chrono but not at the overpriced number you cited. Look around and you can get it cheaper. I bought one BNIB with b/p for I think it was $2100 or $2200.

Its like having a Daytona but better because you have an extra 7-8k still in your pocket and it has the date!! Good luck my friend.

The more I look at it the more I want one now and like the
date feature.
The Sub is a HECK of a deal as well and I dont agree that its like the GMT IIC

I would get the Submariner, but I don't exactly understand why the GMT II can't be a daily wearer. I also think the Chrono price seems high, as others have said.

Given these two I vote for the sub. Since you have the GMTIIc why not get a TOG or a different style?? Why 2 sport models that are pretty similar? Just my .02
