Sd43 date change

Is it normal for the date to change about 3 minutes after midnight? When the date changes, its fast and you can hear it click.
I set my watch about 48hrs ago to my atomic wall clock and it’s still keeping perfect sync time with my atomic wall clock. Hope the accuracy will continue.

Sd43 date change

The date wheel never changes at 12:00AM in any Rolex I have seen. Always 4-5mins lapse.

I have almost the same experience - my 16014, despite its age, does.

Has anyone heard an explanation why it doesn't flip right at midnight? It seems to widely accepted as formality. As in, what is the challenge??

It just depends on how close to midnight the movement was when the hands were fitted.

Yours is in the normal range.
Some of my previous Rolex watches used to consistently change within 20 seconds after midnight.
My recent Rolex watch purchases are more in keeping with yours.

Normal. Mine changes at about 5 seconds past midnight, but I’m rarely up to see it
