Return of the two tone and full yellow gold

I have really noticed when out and about and watching tv that there seems
to be a re-emergence of two tone and full yellow gold pieces,,,,,
A lot of females seem to wearing these and more males then i noticed
before,,,,,Maybe a London thing?
It may be no coincidence that these watches are being worn by much younger people then my 54 years,,,,,
I imagine its to do with people being more comfortable plus a lot of other reasons,,,,instant gratifaction,,,,,,instagram, lol,,,,,,etc, etc

A lot of us were brought up not to flaunt as that would be seen as vulgar and
not classy [even in a Ron Burgundy way lol, lol],,,
So,,is now the time of the two tone and full yellow pieces to return with a
bang? and did they ever go away in the first place?,,,,

Most can't afford a Full Gold Rolex. They are around but it's always been a small percentage of watch wearers. It also takes a certain type of person to be able to pull off a Full Gold Watch.

I strap on a gold piece every day. And guess what? Nobody notices nor cares. And I am not a "certain type" of person. Just a normal middle aged middle class retiree. The stigma on this forum regarding yellow gold watches is plain ridiculous.

Pretty much this... I have been wearing nice watches since the 70’s and I’m pretty sure I can actually count on the fingers of one hand how often someone else has noticed.

Exactly what does that “certain type” look like?
Is there a manual on this?

Ron Burgundy is a two tone blue Sub guy, in case you didn't know. Watch at 1:04 on the video.

I've definitely seen more gold watches coming up among my fellow university students. TT is hopefully getting more popular also among the younger crowd, that's a personal favourite for me!

I think the full gold look is becoming more popular now but I suspect many may not actually be gold, just have the look of gold for appearances. That's what I see more than actual gold Rolexes out and about.

I like rose gold two tone. Here's my baby

I think it’s due to all the fashion watches being ‘gold’ so when the millennials finally get a real watch they get one in same style, I.e. gold and dressy.

I was at a meeting recently and saw three other TT Subs, plus my own. That’s never happened before. Two of the wearers were young Millenials so maybe they are back in style? I personally stopped caring about style back in the 20th Century.

I love TT and full Gold.

If I could I would ONLY wear full YG/RG every single day. But money is not unlimited.

And yes I've been seeing a comeback in YG/TT - alot of celebrities wearing TT Bluesy including 50 cent, justsul, Marky mark and a bunch of others.

Today I took the VW R32 mk5 for a valet,,,
Young chap pulls up in a AMG A class,,
We started chat as I noticed a 36mm two tone Dj on Romans that he was wearing,,
Had a nice chat and he explained how TTs were loved by all his friends and that’s what they aspire toin Chigwell ,,Essex
Young chap was around 23 yrs but may have been younger,,,
He also pointed out that my B.B. was on a Rubber B,,,
It really made me smile as in over 30yrs with Rolex I don’t remember seeing many out in the wild until the last few years and especially on young males and females,,
A very pretty girl who’s Russia’s female World Cup ambassador was on comedians Frankie Boyles show on bbc2 wearing a solid yellow gold sub ,,
Some pics of young chaps Dj,,

I've been saying this for a while. Everyone has SS. TT is different. You don't need to be a certain type of person to wear TT. Many on this forum are stuck in some time warp and don't realize styles change. Look at the recent pricing on TT. Get your head out of the sand or wherever. BTW it has nothing to do with not being able to afford PM. More nonsense from the out of touch.

LOL there are ALOT of people on here who seem so self conscience about "anything" gold. All I have to say to them is get some self confidence and wear what you want.

Seriously who gives a f**k if your rocking a full YG sub or day date? All this nonsense on "I dont think I can pull it off" LOL

You got bigger problems in life if that is what you worry about over a watch. Own the watch.

I’m not entirely sure that people who say “I don’t think I can pull it off” actually do want to wear a full gold piece. I think it’s more of an expression that implies they appreciate the beauty of the watch it’s not their style. At least that’s how I feel about it.

I think it is only natural man. Some of us were brought up to be humble and modest. A full gold watch (Rolex no less)is anything but. Also, there is an 80’s stigma to gold watches that I still remember although I was very young back then. Very Guido-ish and flamboyant.

That being said, I just bought a full gold DD, I can’t bring myself to wear it to work, it would create too much attention but I might be wrong.

Totally agree. It’s a Rolex, aside from those who really love Rolex’s there’s no differentiation in the real world from what I see.

I love yellow gold and wear a few items inc' my TT Rolex. I couldn't care less what people may think, the only thing I worry about is getting mugged.
