Incoming 126660

So yesterday I got the call from my local AD that my DeepSea 126660 was finally in. I was so excited to go pick it up and now that I have it I couldn’t get over how huge it looks on my wrist. I mean this thing is a beast and I’m starting to have second thoughts about my choice on a 44mm bezel. I think a submariner would have been a better choice for my small wrist. I dunno maybe I need more wrist time and maybe it’ll grow on me more. Not a very good pic but here it is anyway.

I love the size. Give it some time and see what you think.

I think it looks great and you wear it well. Like the other post said, give it some time and you’ll quickly get used to the size.

Give it a month at a minimum. It takes a little while for your mind to adjust to seeing a larger watch on your wrist. From the one picture it looks like it fits you well

Give it some wrist time and see if you do not begin to like it. Great watch. If it would have come out before the SD43 I might have picked it up. Congratulations

Don’t overthink it. The more you wear it, the more you will love it. I’ve owned the sub and the DSSD and find the adjustability of the DSSD is so key to its comfort you will soon forget about wanting a sub. Enjoy the heck out of the most technically advanced, badass watch Rolex makes.

It may grow on you... or you can flip it for a sub

Either way, congrats!

Snap some more photos, doesn't look bad to me. But they are HUGE and why I never could pull the trigger on one. Wasn't the diameter for me as the dial is pretty small actually, it was the height that was the issue.

Congratulations it’s an awesome reference and hands down, the best dial of any Rolex IMHO.

The diameter is perfect To me, but it is a tall (thick) wearing watch. That may take some getting used to.

As Travis said, give it some time

You should be able to get used to the size of the DSSD, and weight. The height can be particularly an issue.

But if you need to flip, shouldn't lose much.

By the way, the DSSD bezel is 43 mm in diameter (same bezel as SD43, or rather, the SD43 uses the same bezel as the DSSD since it hasn't changed).

I guess what I meant is the diameter is 44mm according to the Rolex website, not the bezel.

I have the 1st gen. It is a big watch. I have a 40mm GMT II. Explorer II, a 42mm Sky-D. I like all different sizes.

It’ll grow on u fast! Don’t even worry. After a week you’ll be glad u got it. If you haven’t already, remove the divers extension and comfort level will go up dramatically imo. Congrats!

Post some more photos of it on your wrist for us to see. If you had a 40mm watch it will take some time to get used to. The new DSSD is undoubtedly a thick watch, but at least now it has a balanced bracelet to complement the head of the watch. Give it a few weeks and see if you change your mind.

Looks great, congrats. I have the same concerns about the size and asked my AD to let me know next time he has one in si I can try it on.

Looks great, mega congrats. You'll find after a week or so you'll get used to the weight and size. The bracelet should be properly sized, maybe a bit tighter to manage the size.
After getting used to the Deepsea, a Submariner will seem dainty.
Unfortunately, this is a side effect of ADs not having stock and forcing us to buy sight unseen.
Don't overthink it though and listen to the internet hype, the Deesea is manageable for just about any wrist size.

Check out this video on a 6.5 inch wrist.

I don't think it looks bad in that photo. its a large tool watch with a presence and should show that on the wrist.

Second thoughts are normal sometimes. I'm having them now on my new one, but I do agree to give it time. Hey, you've got the King of all Subs. It is beautiful !
