Lee Perla AD

I got quoted 7-8 years for a 2018 SS pepsi....

Have bought 6 Rolexes over the years from them... 2 of which were precious metal.

Jokes on me I guess

Wow...I hate to say this, but they just don't respect your business.

Quotes like that are usually reserved for hit the bricks scenarios, where the AD simply cannot be bothered with the hassle of getting you the watch.

You seem like a customer who should be respected more, but clearly they don't see you that way.

When I called and they said not available, I told them to look up my purchase history and even after that...she quoted me 7-8 years. You are right they don't respect their existing customers...also I used to work with David at Lee Perla and now that he left for a few years now, it seems like the customer service has gone down hill. It is a shame.

That’s just terrible. 7-8 years means they don’t want your business. I would write an email to the store manager or owner explaining why you won’t be doing additional business with them and move on.

I wouldn't bother. Clearly they're not.

Think I have previously stated...you don't choose the AD...the AD chooses you (as a customer). The rules have changed.

Find another AD that respects you and your custom. They are out there. Reach out to the forum for recommendations.

Good luck...

Ouch, I'm on an "undetermined" waitlist with another NJ AD. However, I did manage to pick up a 126711CHNR with said AD today!

I think this piece is over hyped. Just like the BLNR. It's only a SS GMT. Once the must haves get theirs, I think this piece will be more available. It's different and I think a lot of people will flip it as they can't warm up to the jubilee. JMHO.

Oddly, I kind of agree with your thoughts. I feel the jubilee on a gmt is off but that’s just my personal preference.

Picked mine up from them today. Never heard anytime but good things about them. I’ve been dealing with them for over a decade and I’ve had (and seen) nothing but exceptional customer service.

But just so I’m clear, you called up and asked for the hottest watch on the market. On the phone. You didn’t go in.

Any guesses how many calls they get like this?

And then, you didn’t get the answer you want, even though you know it’s a nearly impossible watch to get and you start in on “but look at my buying history”.

And now you come onto an Internet forum and whine that they don’t think you are important?

Seems to me that something is amiss here. And based on my own decades worth of experience, I’m going to say it’s not them.

Yeah, go try and get the watch elsewhere. See how that goes for you.

If anything, blame Rolex. I’m quite certain Lee Perla would love to have tons of stock to sell.

He’s bought 6 watches from them, 2 of which were PM. I think he’s got a right to be frustrated since they basically told him to f@$k off with that 7-8 years garbage. For someone who just got theirs, maybe you should offer the dude some advice

Well, fwiw I think there is something missing to the story.

I know each and every person there by name. And they are all total professionals.

I won’t offer him any advice because I doubt he wants it. Based on his post he just wants to cry because he can’t get what he wants. And he’s blaming them.

I’ll give you some advice though. Don’t believe everything you read on the internet. I very highly doubt anyone there was anything but polite and professional.

It is genuinely truly not their fault that they can’t get the stock to sell. But I’m quite certain that they treated him with respect and courtesy.

And I’ll offer everyone else some advice. Make relationships. Show people that you value them, even when they can’t do what you want them to do. Show respect. It comes back tenfold. Pretty much always.

The fact that you "aren't anywhere near a big spender" with them, as you stated, and that you were able to acquire it this early, tells me that this AD is INDEED playing games.

I'm a capitalist. I'm also a nice guy. Bringing donuts and schmoozing in no way should shoot you up the list. Cold hard numbers should. I AM a big fish. But i've been bumped by a couple bigger fish in the past, and I have zero problem with it. Bumped by a smaller fish? Never.

Not going back through the thread to see if I said “I’m not anywhere near a big spender”.

I don’t believe I would say those exact words. Because I am a big spender. I’ve booght at least a dozen watches from them. Earrings. Bracelets. Necklaces. And my wedding ring.

I’m a damn good customer.

But I’m not near their biggest spender. They have people come in and buy more in monetary value in one visit than my entire history.

I’m a long term consistent, loyal customer. And I’m that because of the never ending good service they provided.

This thread is a joke.

The OP, by his own admission, has an ax to grind. He called looking for the hottest watch, the day it hit stores in the US, and expected the answer he got.

And then he came here to try and shame them.

It’s easy to see through it based on his own words.

Complete and utter nonsense in my opinion.

Exactly. But what you left out invalidates your entire point.

To me, I much prefer a long term consistent customer than someone that spends a ton of money one or two times.

Did you miss the part where I state I also provided tons of referrals and held get togethers a there?

Couple that with what I have spent and it creates a highly valued customer.

And FYI, that goes for everything. Always.

Show courtesy to everyone. Always.

You’d be surprised at how effective it is in creating strong relationships.

Maybe if the OP bought 10 watches in the past, he would have it in 3-4 years.

More likely, if he bought 20 watches in the past, he would be next in line.

6 isn't going to get it done it seems.

Curious how many Superdog has bought from them?

A lot. I’ve also hosted GTG’s there. And I’ve referred dozens of people to them. Which btw, every one of them reported back exceptional service.

I also go in there regularly to say hello. I brought them chocolates at Christmas as well.

I won’t reduce my efforts to get this watch. I lobbied hard for it. I just bought a 116655 from them not long ago. But that was actually at a better price than any gray could offer it.

And with all that, I’m 100% certain I’m not even close to their biggest spender. Not even close.

IMHO though, that’s not what this thread is about. The OP heard an answer he didn’t like. And he came here to try and hurt them. I don’t know what was said. I wasn’t there. And I don’t know if the OP actually bought that many watches from them.

But what is an AD to do? How should they respond? If they have dozens of people that regularly go into the shop asking for this watch, and they get one every month or so, what are going to do? What can they do?

I’m closing, I’ve asked for an LVC and a blue SD. I haven’t gotten either.

They don’t get a lot. And they have a lot of people asking for the hot models.

This is the genius behind Rolex marketing. And even when I didn’t get what I wanted, I was grateful for their service and their professionalism. And I kept coming back. Being polite. Understanding their position. And further strengthening the relationship.

Agreed. Although I haven’t bought anything from Lee Perla, I have spoken to Rick on the phone and he was nothing but courteous

X3. On Rick. Even though I’m nowhere near in the ballpark of a big spender with them. I have also referred people to them, with outstanding feedback.

Rick has ALWAYS been great to deal with, extremely knowledgeable and professional.

Seth, How is the OP trying to shame the AD who gave you a $10K gift? Honestlly, it seems as now you are obliged to become the protector of the realm for that AD as payback for that gift. Lots of other people are respectful and have built relationships and are also even bigger spenders so you should not be preaching about what to do to get something which by all accounts you were just lucky to get when another could have been instead of you. You basically hijacked the OPs thread in an overtly biased manner.

This was the point to my whole post. I have been reading about the practices of ADs and rolex of late. I gave Lee Perla a call today because I wanted to see first hand how they would treat an old customer. I used to work with David who I am sure would attest to the fact that I am a very real customer and have spent very real dollars at Lee Perla. I have not purchased from them in a while, I have been busy building my patek collection. But, given my history with them I would not expect a piece tomorrow, but 7-8 years...that is basically a f u from the store, and my post here is to let everyone know how the AD treated a long time customer. I am stating fact and that is all.

By you own admission, looks like you called in with an agenda. You wanted to see how you would be treated.

Were they rude to you? Did they act without professionalism?

Sounds only as of you got an answer that you didn’t like.

And you keep referencing David. I liked him very much. He was always very good to me. But he left on very bad terms. I don’t know the details. I never asked as it’s not my business.

But you called up, the very day the hottest watch on the planet is hitting the US and asked for it. And you got the exact answer you knew you would get.

And then you come here with an inflammatory post.

Complete lack of class in my opinion. And this thread speaks more about you, than it does them.
