I prefer never to get into discussions about religion or politics on forums because it rarely goes anywhere positive.

Perhaps a more politically correct statement would be "Our great nation is a non-denominational country with a majority of it's population being of Christian faith." I think our fore bearers would be deeply troubled by your classifying our country along with a particular religious doctrine.

This is the United States, where we do not have a national church, and along with Christmas, we celebrate Christmas, Hunnukah, Eid, Kawanza, and the end of the year, no matter the religion. I wonder what percentage of Rolexes sold worldwide in December are Christmas presents, versus being bought to celebrate another holiday or just the season. Queen, the original post says "Jesus is the reason for the season." It did not say Jesus is the reason for the "Christmas Season." Clearly, Jesus is the reason for Christmas. My point was that people, who are not Christians, are celebrating the season too.

Do a very small handful of Jews and Muslims in the US and UK celebrate Hanukkah and Eid, respectively? Sure, but the point is Christmas is the predominant holiday of the season. I am tired of people taking the balls out of Christmas.

People celebrate the holidays, and practice their religion in their individual ways. Who is taking the "balls out of Christmas"? Ryan, I am enjoying our scholarly debate. I am not concerned Christmas is too commercialized; my concern lies in the secularization of Christmas. Its now Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas. Manger scenes are either taken down or accompanied by Menorahs and crescents.

First of all name is Brian. If you are Jewish, why are you so concern about the secularization of Christmas? I suggest you be more concerned about maintaining the secularization of our country.
