Glad Tidings
Just popped into wish everyone a merry Christmas and blessed new year. Remember Jesus is the Reason for the Season.
Have been Rolexless for a few months now, not been about much as I find it a bit to painful to participate. anyway, stay safe this Christmas....

Second, whether you like it or not, the US is a Christian country. Most of us are Christians. You're just being silly.

'scuse the typo. Since the majority of people in America are white, would you say the U.S. is a white country?

Perhaps a more politically correct statement would be "Our great nation is a non-denominational country with a majority of it's population being of Christian faith." I think our fore bearers would be deeply troubled by your classifying our country along with a particular religious doctrine.

When discussing the "holiday season" in America, its usually Christmas and there should not be a need to footnote the celebrations of every religious group when mentioning Christmas. It doesnt matter that we dont have a national church; we are a Christian nation.

Everytime my girl say's "Let's put up a tree" I end carrying a messy, needle dropping brush into the 2nd story of my home. "Let's put up some lights" I end up climbing a ladder and freezing digits off. Gotta love the season. Merry Christmas everyone!

Queen, the original post says "Jesus is the reason for the season." It did not say Jesus is the reason for the "Christmas Season." Clearly, Jesus is the reason for Christmas. My point was that people, who are not Christians, are celebrating the season too.
I wish everyone good seasonal tidings. |

I prefer not to take such a strict constructionist tact of interpretation. Jesus is the reason for the season" is a well known phrase most often associated with Christmas. Do a very small handful of Jews and Muslims in the US and UK celebrate Hanukkah and Eid, respectively? Sure, but the point is Christmas is the predominant holiday of the season. I am tired of people taking the balls out of Christmas.

BTW, although it has a nice ring to it, I never hear the expression "Jesus is the reason for the season" before and I still stand by my original comment that despite the nice rhyme, it is incorrect. |

I should point out that you incorrectly assume that "Jesus is my savior." I'm simply a Jewish guy who is exasperated with the pervasiveness of political correctness. |
