Multiple watch owners
To those with multiple watches, how do you store unworn watches? Can’t seem to get a consensus.
Winder or no? If not, Store with crown in or out? 9 or 3 o’clock side down? Dial facing up? How often to switch between watches? What’s the best way to get them started again? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

no winder, crown in, dial face up.
I could wear the same one watch for months while the rest are all in bank safety boxes. To start another one just manually winding it after adjusting the time and date if it has that function. |

My cheap 8+4 winder quit so now it's a watch box, crowns in face up.

In a safe in watch boxes
Crown in and fixed to a watch pillow I wear mine 3-5 days at a time and rotate fairly evenly. Not sure why you would want to keep the crown out, dust at some point may find it’s way in for example (despite seals). I would recommend wearing in heavy rotation, just to keep the parts In fairly regular movement |

Crown in dial up in my safe. Not set rotation. Kind of go with my mood as far as what I wear.

I keep them in the fish tank. Seriously. I heard this keeps the seals from drying up.

I’ve never heard of “crown out”, but like everyone else said, safe place with crown in

Safety deposit box, swap out 2 watches every 2-3 weeks, no winder, crown in, dial up resting on a watch pillow. Previously, I would keep 5 at home and rotate daily and swap out weekly. I found this cycle to be too quick and I would never bond with a piece I think it takes a week or more to get that lived in feel, ymmv.

I have three multiple watch winders. There is always controversy about this but its nice just to pull one out, wear it for a day or two and then change it out for another. I have two 6 watch winders and a 4 watch winder.

Safe deposit box at the bank. No winder.
I do keep a few Seikos at home, but that is less than $600 in Seikos. I use Casebudi size large watch travel cases to store them at the bank, crown in. I switch out every couple of weeks, only two at home at a time. I actually enjoy setting and winding a watch before I start my day. |

Slightly off-topic, but I am starting to realize there just aren't that many unique, non-trivial subjects to discuss about Rolex watches.
But the picture makes me think of a few potentially novel new topics. No offense intended to the OP, just stream of consciousness here. For instance: "What's the stupidest place you ever put your watch and then forgot?" "What are you drinking right now with your Rolex (in the drink)?" "Do Rolexes always fall dial side-down?" "My dog ate my Rolex. Now what do I do?" YMMV. |
