Passed on BLNR waiting for SD43

I got the call from my AD yesterday and made the tough decision to pass on a new BLNR. I am holding out for the SD43. If I had to pick one of the two, it would be the SD43. No firm time line, but saying a few months. Ugh.

Good for you, as it's always best to wait for the one you want. Been my experience that if you don't it will always end up costing you more down the road. Hopefully you don't have to wait too long. Good luck!

Always best to wait for the one you want, rather than settle for the one you don’t.

I have been waiting quite a while for the SD43 in NYC. I have called several other AD's. In South NJ, they want a $1000 refundable deposit to get on their list. Another AD in PA wants a 20% deposit. The Rolex boutique on 5th Ave. told me yesterday they have a 2.5 year waiting list. So anyone that is able to find one at an AD is very very lucky.

Funny!

So make fun of me (if you must) for my comment but had the same exact situation and ended up from davidsw. I would gladly pay the grey price for an Mk1 then wait. You would have it now, and while not huge Mk1 is cool and you don’t have to keep asking around for it.

Got mine in Melbourne last December, was told by my AD that it was the second one they received in Melbourne for the year (2017).
Love to know exactly where this place is that has them sitting in ADs

They had an established list and if I didn't take it, the next guy was in. I just couldn't buy both.

Both excellent references, but you have to get what you like. Hopefully the wait isn't long.

I am sure it was tempting. Glad to hear the opportunity did not get the best of you - stick it out for what you really want!

I once went to an AD and they had a deepblue on display. Got excited until they told me it's for "try" only and it was already sold and the collector kept it at the store. Biggest tease in my life.

Cant believe you passed on a batman...Would have kept it and then waited for the SD43. Can save up in the mean time for it.

Smart move going with the watch you really want the first time around. I would have passed on the BLNR to get the SD43 as well, oh wait...I did do that!

I would have done the same. My wrists aren’t that big, so I am getting the 114060, but the Seadweller is awesome. Congrats.
