https://youtu.be/fMtZdjg0BWo

He says prices are falling quick. Don’t know if I agree.

Well, there's no way the price will stay up where it was before 90% of ADs had even received a single watch. Supply may still be very tight, but it's never going to be tighter than when the first few were trickling out.

While I agree to some degree. This watch may never be at MSRP and if it is, it’s very likely the future MSRP will be higher than it is now. Some folks could have all the patience in the world and still maybe never see one at $9,250.

That Frederico talks watches guy posted a similar video a few years back on the DaytonaC’s.
Demand and distribution will dictate pricing the Pepsi. At the moment it’s very hot and in demand.

He also posted the nonsense about the blue dial Skydweller being just a walk in watch at most Rolex AD’s (or some such nonsense)

I’d be surprised if the Pepsi falls like crazy. Frederick is probably talking his own book.

My AD and I were chatting and think that there will be an initial spurt of supply like the Daytona C then it’ll slow down again.

I think the run will have legs w minor fluctuations. Availability impacts demand and price.

That’s what I’ve been saying as well. It’s going to fall and then it’s going to level off. It’s normal as the got to be first buyers will pay more than the it’s been out for six months purchasers

It is not in his interest to make a video about price of BLRO falling, since he is now a grey dealer. He did talk about lower wholesale price of BLRO between dealers, and that is up to other dealers to dispute if it was untrue.

I would be more skeptical if his video is about the price tripling in the short to mid term, and to grab it while stock last.

It is true. I’m in a wholesaler group* with Federico and I’ve witnessed the price drop a couple thousand $ in the past month or so.

* I’m not a wholesaler, I just enjoy seeing the market from a different perspective.

Genuine query - how can Greys be ‘wholesalers’ when they are buying their stock off retailers?

Fed has touched on how dealers trade watches in his other videos. For instance, people in NY may have different taste/preference to say, people in Miami. Some louder watches may sell better in Miami but not in NY (not implying who has good or bad taste, this is just an example); hence, Miami dealers may trade watches that do not sell well in Miami with NY dealers, and vice versa. IIRC, these dealers meet a few times per year at a location to "trade" their inventory at wholesale price.

These videos are all in YT. I remember seeing other videos not made by Fed on the topic of wholesale watch market too. Of course, it's up to viewers to discern whether these contents are fake news or not.

I think it could be because consumers are learning to be patient.
Many of us are waiting and refusing to pay 125% of retail prices. In turn grey dealers are having difficult time moving these pieces, thus lowering prices.

It is a game of patients. Grey dealers that can afford to hold, will. Smaller ones will lower their prices for a faster turn around.

If rolex increases the supply, consumers win. If they dont, its a matter of time that the grey prices become the norm, just like the Daytonas.

I have not seen even one Pepsi yet in Canada. There was one that came to a grey dealer but was already pre sold and it was a US watch. Very much still crazy hot in Canada.

Myself and a fellow CWC member passed on one from our ADs. There is even one FS in CWC.

Personally, I’m happy with my BLNR and if I had to chose between them today I still would have picked the BLNR.

You bet we did. I’m not in it for the money - I’m a watch lover and a collector not a flipper. I am against paying over MSRP (unless the watch is discontinued or collector) and think everyone who does are either super rich or crazy. I am not about to be a hypocrite.

Plus I would not risk ruining a long and deep standing relationship with my AD.

Cheers

Agreed. I’m not a flipper either but you can always wear it for a few months and see how it feels and if it doesn’t work out you can always list it at msrp as well :)
