Vintage datejust 6605 VS 1601 Help
Looking for feedback on a vintage datejust listed for sale, I placed a deposit on the watch because i love the look but im concerned if the dial is accurate to the production year.
http://www.vintagegoldwatches.com/pr...just-18k-1958/ The listing dates the watch 1958 but mentions that the model number is a 1601, is that possible? I thought datejust ref 1601 started in 1960. Should this be a ref 6605 based on year? My other concern is the dial print, under the Rolex crown, is it just me or does the Text seem a bit low under the logo crown? The seller has 400 plus good reviews on ebay with a 100 percent good rating and their website looks great in my opinion. I love the watch but im concerned any help would be much appreciated. |

Dial has tritium labeling, but Rolex didn’t use tritium in 1958. This may be a misdated 1601.
Edit: The serial number is 1962-1963 according to minus4plus6. |

Movement looks like a 1570 for a 1601
