If that was part of Rolex’s plan then it’d be PM models heading to the crusher - not SS.

That story is about product they made but didn’t sell - not product they didn’t produce to begin with. :chuckle

thats surprising because they have two sales per year. Granted it not permanent collection items though, but those probably dont get burned either as they are never out of season. Other luxury brands LV, Hermes etc are never, ever on sale.

Burberry in particular is out of control with the loud branding. I like the understated stuff but there is less of it now.

It’s truly an example of them following the knock off check pattern everything that you knew because it was so loud and ugly Burberry would never make it.... now they do

Don’t forget Burberry also have a outlet stores that sells the unwanted goods.

Hermes is said to destroy products each season because they do not discount items at the end of a season.

that i get. I would rather them destroy them then putting them on sale and then they still dont sell and destroy them anyway. Any products they put on sale devalues the brand.

I hate sales for anything as that establishes a maximum price people will pay then they just wait for the sale. Retail pricing is irrelevant at that point.

The reality is that all these SS Rolex are sitting in my 115,000 square foot warehouse in SE Arkansas awaiting grotesquely overpriced resale as NOS.

Was in Orvis store the other day with the boy to look at some (what I thought would be) quality jackets etc. All made in China. Couldn’t believe it. American-made jackets would likely need to retail in the 4 figure range. Are Orvis customers willing to pay that much?

on their website, they do sell a USA made leather jacket, but it's $3,298. I think it is made by Lone Pine as it looks very similar to the lone pine jackets I own
