The best value for money in these categories
Hi Guys,
My dream collection would have the following: Dive watch, Chrono, GMT, understated dress and a show stopper watch (ideally PM and flashy). In your opinion what are the best and cheapest options to fill in these categories? Ill start with my opinion: Dive watch: Tudor BB ETA on RubberB Chrono: Daytona (potentially moon watch, but the durability of the daytona wins) GMT: Tudor BB GMT (close competition from Exp ii) Understated dress: JLC Ultra thin reverso (duo face my preference) Show Stopper: DayDate (so many options for this one. Gold Sub, Royal oak, Patek etc but value for money it tough to beat in PM the day date.)

I am interpreting "best and cheapest" to mean "most value" for the price. Under that pretense, I say the following...
Diver: Pelagos LHD Chrono: Speedy Moonwatch Pro Hesalite GMT: Tudor BB GMT Dress: IWC Portuguese Chronograph To further the value proposition, I would, and you could, buy all from trusted sellers. I can't think of a "value" show stopper... maybe the Grand Seiko Peacock. That said, my overall showstopper.. the ALS Datograph! |

Best:
Dive watch: Sea-dweller or DSSD if you have a large enough wrist. Chrono: El Primero 1969 or Daytona GMT: BLNR Understated dress: PP Calatrava with hinged caseback. Show Stopper: PP Nautilus or AP Royal Oak. --- Cheapest (that's still decent): Dive: Aquaracer, Hydroconquest Chrono: Speedmaster Racing or Carrera 1887 GMT: The new Tudor or TAG Calibre 7 GMT Understated dress: Nomos Orion or vintage Omega/Zenith handwind. Show Stopper: Vintage President or Datejust I guess. Not really interested in this category. |
